That is a great story eleven thank you _________________ Nowhere does the Bible state that the sexual orientation of homosexuality is sinful it merely instructs anyone, gay or straight, that any sexual act that does not spring from a place of love, respect and commitment to the other person involved is sinful. |

That's a great story and an awesome, succinct reminder of how we should behave as representatives of God, Jesus and our Christian family.

It's kind of like sitting in a room talking about all of the unsaved people in the world and how much they need to know Christ Jesus and never going out and sharing the Gospel with anyone. |
You're right, ragman & I didn't mean to sit here complaining & doing nothing about it. As a matter of fact, I think that's what a lot have been saying lately. To continue to act as Jesus would have us act & bring change from within then outward. But thanks for the reminder! We needed it!!
This paragraph really spoke to me tonight. We're at the beginning of receiving our pastor's resignation & we met w/the conference minister to go over our next steps in calling a new pastor. We had done a brief survey of what it is our congregation sees us doing in the near future & what vision the congregational members see for us. One of the comments was to receive a pastor who will bring in new members since our church is very small, minimally financially sound & members are dwindling off slowly. I found that very interesting b/c it's not the pastor's job to "bring in new members". It's ours as a congregation. When I heard that comment, I remembered my thread here & how if I wanted change to come, it was up to me to do it, at least do what I could. So thank you, ragman for pointing this out. I think we all needed to hear it.
Why thank you Key for those kind words!!! It's much appreciated! I try my best to put forth the love I was once shown.
What a wonderful story, 11. In response to this:

Having a sticker on the back bumper is great for other people, but have you thought about what you can do inside the truck maybe as a reminder for you? In the back it kind of gets forgotten about. _________________ Don't get caught in the trap of thinking you know everything God has to say b/c you've read the Bible. Remember, God is STILL speaking. You've never seen the INSIDE of my truck.
I don't call it my "sanctuary" for nothing.

I'd love to see your truck, eleven.
Next time I am going to, or though PA, I will look you up.
All,
I have been thinking (again)
When the term was first used, it was derogatory.
It was used to define those nitwits who were always talking about this Christ fellow, and about some God in Heaven, when everyone knew that the gods were hanging about in their temples, and such.
A lot of "labels" started out as derogatory names.
Yankee was a term the Brit soldiers used to put down the colonists.
We now wear that proudly. (well except for a lot of folks in the South, that never got over the whole union thing.)
Anyway, I think we need to take back the term.
We know what a Christian should be, and we need to strive to make sure that we are that kind of person, and show the world what a Christian is. A follower of The Christ.
It doesn't matter (well, in the grand scheme) what others do, but what we do.
I remember back in the 70's there was talk among Christians that went like this:
If being a Christian was illegal, and you were accused of being a Christian, in a court of law, could the prosecutor get a conviction, or could your defense lawyer get you off?
When I think back on this, now, and look over my last few years, I have to say, my defense lawyer could work up a good case.
I intend to do something about that.
I want a full conviction, and a life sentence. _________________ -----------

Sure! Are you anywhere near Lancaster County? That would be awesome! We're in the same state...who knows if we'll meet up some day!
Shardikson, I guess in all actuality, I'd be considered guilty as well. I'd probably not make any good defense. I know what you mean about reclaiming. I had to do that w/other things in my life as well. _________________ Don't get caught in the trap of thinking you know everything God has to say b/c you've read the Bible. Wow! Wouldn't that be weird if you two already met somewhere before and didn't even know it?
