We've decided here to go with Howard Dean after some flirting with General Wesley Clark.

Dean's moderate stances on fiscal issues and gun control were a plus, but his ability to bounce back from blows and keep plugging show he has the ability to go the distance.

I see a rerun of 2000 minus the Clinton Fatigue which has now turned into Clinton Nostalgia.

Either way it will be most interesting and a hard fought race.

Dubya and Dean have many similarities: both are children of privilege (Dean's father was Dean of Dean witter) and both are Yalies, bush graduated in '68 and Dean in '71. Moreover, they are buddies from their days in the National Governors Conference. But despite their collegiality, don't doubt there won't be plenty of attacks from surrogates.

The Vice Presidential slot may have signifigance. Cheney was a plus for Bush in 2000 but is now baggage and may very well be dumped. As for the Dem, why not Clark?

Yeah, because Gore is soooo life-like it is sure to put fire in the campaign.

I'm looking at a Bush/Powell ticket.
