I will be starting Genesis chapter 1 tonight. So read up and let's discuss. Things have been very slow as of late, post or I will. Wink

No definitive plans timeline wise. If there is some discussion on a given chapter, then we'll wait before moving on to the next chapter. If it's a chapter on lineage or something else like that which won't generate discussion, we'll keep on moving. Cool

What's your thoughts on Genesis 2:2,3.......
2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Why Bless any one day ?

Why make it Holy, from the rest of the other days ?

I submit that it is to give us a regular reminder. We need such because it is the tendency of men to forget.

I think that God set the seventh day as Holy because He know that man kind will make themselfs silly with "stuff to do" that we will eventually forget or to tired to worship the giver of life. Its a time of reflection and to spend with loved ones and to STOP and put things in prespective.

I would have to agree with the statement of tendency of men/women to forget. I think more than ever everyone is going, going, going, and it's become so urgent for some that I dont wonder if it's because if they stop they will find that something is missing and they can't handle that.

If we don't stop and rest, reflect, and rejuvenate how can we continue to be our best?

I think too by showing that one can rest it kind of takes doing so...and let's it be okay. Meaning...there is not pride lost in doing so.
