There is some theory around that Adam had a wife before Eve, and her name was Lilith. They say she did not want to be subservient of Adam and said the name of God. To which she was banished and punished to have her children die. So she became a demon that harms pregnant women and babies, and children since she can't have them.
People says that even the Bible has discrepencies about woman: Genesis 1: 27 So God created people in his own image: God patterened them after himself; male and female he created them. and then in chapter 2: 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib and brought her to Adam.
Why the two different stories of how woman was created? Could there have been another other than Eve? Could the theories on Lilith hold something to them? Or does chapter 2 go more into detail about how woman was created? |

The second chapter of Genesis is much older than the first. _________________ When Science was in its crib, Religion tried to strangle it. When Science was in its infancy, Religion tried to abuse it. Now that Science is grown up, Religion wants to be in its good graces.
Theology is philosophy/ethics for people who already know what conclusion they want to come to. |

Good answer FFT. I'm thinking that chapter 1 is a summary of the creation account. Kind of like what you see in a textbook, with bolded phrases highlighting the important details of what the chapter expounds upon in more detail... _________________ JP's Mind - my blog
