This is the biggest problem Silver.

They do not allow the bible to interpret itself.

God defines His own terms.

But people do not want to fully surrender to God.

Are we one of the 2 spies or the 10?

Do we fear of entering into His rest, or do we say we have when we have not?

Ceasing from the works of the flesh?

And allowing God to work out His will in us.

LET this mind be in you....

But we resist because the flesh screams loud when it is pressured.

Obedience is a dirty word in mainstream Christianity.

It should be a joyful word.

But we get this shallow argument:

"You do not have to OBEY God, you just have to love..."

Ignoring Jesus of course:

"If you love me, keep my commandments..."

Of course we will...

But let me just get rid of that uncomfortable 4th, then I will love you...

*sadness*

If you love God, you will desire the gift of obedience...

Jer 7:21 ¶ Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.
Jer 7:22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
Jer 7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

Jer 7:24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels [and] in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

Jer 7:25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending [them]:
Jer 7:26 Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.

Jer 7:27 ¶ Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.

Compare with this:

Exd 16:11 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Exd 16:12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD your God.
Exd 16:13 ¶ And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.
Exd 16:14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness [there lay] a small round thing, [as] small as the hoar frost on the ground.
Exd 16:15 And when the children of Israel saw [it], they said one to another, It [is] manna: for they wist not what it [was]. And Moses said unto them, This [is] the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.

Exd 16:19 And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.
Exd 16:20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.
Exd 16:22 ¶ And it came to pass, [that] on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one [man]: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.
Exd 16:23 And he said unto them, This [is that] which the LORD hath said, To morrow [is] the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake [that] which ye will bake [to day], and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
Exd 16:24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.
Exd 16:25 And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day [is] a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field.
Exd 16:26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, [which is] the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
Exd 16:27 And it came to pass, [that] there went out [some] of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
Exd 16:28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?
Exd 16:29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
Exd 16:30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

compare with:

Luk 16:16 The law and the prophets [were] until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

I believe the manna represents the prophets and the laws which God spoke through them to feed the people for six days.
Every six days God sends prophets and preachers and teachers and healers and workers of miracles..each in their own order and rank..
but on the seventh day..the people rest. They don't preach they learn.
God teaches us himself on the seventh day.

When Moses went up into My Sinai it as on the seventh day that God came and rested on the mountain and taught Moses all things.
So the Sabbath is a Day of the Teacher himself to teach his children his ways.

Do we profane the Lord's Day by teaching our own things, or do we allow God's Spirit to lead us and teach us himself?

For six days the Lord fed men with the bread of the prophets and of the law. But on the seventh day the Lord came and taught and fed the people his own bread, his own Word from his own mouth.

and so, the prophets and the law was "until" John..for 6 days..
but after that..(the seventh day) which is the Lord's Day, his sabbath..he taught us himself and every man presseth into it.

Maybe the road is narrow because it is so full, and maybe the road is wide because it is empty.. Idea

my ways are not your ways..makes sense..

Sorry LT, But that is not how I see it at all.

The Bible verses clearly tells me a completely different picture.

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

7:14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

In regards to the 7th day sabbath- Sunday issue.

The VAST (many) majority of the Christian world goes the Sunday route.

The 'few' go the route God has laid out, the 7th day sabbath.
20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I [am] the LORD your God.

Hi Silver,
it does say many and few..my booboo.. Embarassed

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
7:14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

strait
G4728
στενός
stenos
sten-os'
Probably from the base of G2476; narrow (from obstacles standing close about): - strait.

wide
G4116
πλατύς
platus
plat-oos'
From G4111; spread out “flat” (“plot”), that is, broad: - wide.

Broad Very Happy
G2149
εὐρύχωρος
euruchōros
yoo-roo'-kho-ros
From εὐρύς eurus (wide) and G5561; spacious: - broad.

many enter into the "plot"..and few enter into the narrow because it's crowded about the door.

so you have to "squeeze" your way in.. Wink
like a grape..lol

but in this verse "narrow" means something more:

Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

G2346
θλίβω
thlibō
thlee'-bo
Akin to the base of G5147; to crowd (literally or figuratively): - afflict, narrow, throng, suffer tribulation, trouble.

So the way of suffering and tribulation IS the narrow way.
An not too many want to suffer tribulation, they run from it and take the easy way of closing their ears and eyes and walking in the imaginations of their own minds, as their fathers did before them.

Silver, the sabbath is not the whole Gospel.
The gospel is the way to it and how to enter in.

At the time this was written (in the old world), men were not listening to the gospel. They did not know the way or how to enter into the sabbath.
They thought it was only "one" day a week in our (24 hour) time. But God's time is not our time. The Sabbath is his day (time) that he is in and asks us to join him in it.
And we are also told where this sabbath is and how to find it. And it is in Christ himself. He is the sabbath day of rest that God gave to man, but they wouldn't hear it.
They didn't hear it then when he was right there walking, talking, living with them in the wilderness.
He was right there. And they were stubborn and chose to hear him only "one day" and after that they heard no more.
They followed God's voice into the wilderness. And then refused to listen to him and chose to listen to Moses.
So because man chose to listen to man instead of God, God gave them manly instructions to follow.
Today we have Godly instructions to follow which are not engraved in stone, but is engraved in our hearts. And today is that very day.

So many are led out of Egypt and they stand in the wilderness at the door..(it's crowded)..and some (a few) as seen in the prophets whom God gave them to hear for six days of creation..(the manna from heaven), and the rest (many) chose to hear Moses and the laws God gave to men because they were too stubborn to hear his voice.

How do we explain this:

But Silver..

You are already walking in the true sabbath everyday because you do not seek to do your own will, you do not seek to stone people or kill people because they think different than you. Your heart is in the right place. And even though you believe (knowledge) that we are to honour God only "one" day a week, your heart proves that you are willing to work everyday for those you love and care about. (this IS the sabbath in your heart)..even though you don't see it..God does..and a lot of people see it too. And I see it.

And I'm not going to try to "change your mind", I only want you to "see with your heart", that you are already keeping the sabbath "in your heart" everyday which is truly honouring His Sabbath in "his day"..which is TODAY!

If you were keeping the sabbath according to the laws of Moses, you would only be here one day a week trying to save those who are lost.
But because you are here "everyday" proves you are walking in God's Sabbath and in his law to love your "enemies" those who are lost..everyday.

Your words deny who you are Silver..But your "actions" speak "louder" than your words and they show who you really are. Very Happy

God Bless You my friend!
all my heart
(HUGS)
lone

ps..God sets the trap (plot) and at some point we all enter it. And we don't even know we're there until he says.."open your eyes and look around you"..
now go back out and come back in the other door.. Very Happy

You think you are keeping the Sabbath according to Moses law (trap), but in truth you are keeping the sabbath according to God's Word..(set free)..
Bt until you "know" it or "see" it for yourself..you will keep thinking that you are trapped and have to keep the law in stone...but you are truly free, to honour His Day, every single day of every year for the rest of your life.
What an honour and delight it is to walk in his paths and hear his voice Today. Very Happy

Smile SIlver!
I know it's in you..I see it.. Laughing

You could say that.
Every one starts out on the broad road, yet the Christian finds that the way to eternal life gets narrower and narrower as they go along.

There are the little details that most people ignore or reject as not of any importance, which the Christian MUST pay close attention to
Quote:

but in this verse "narrow" means something more:

Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Akin to the base of G5147; to crowd (literally or figuratively): - afflict, narrow, throng, suffer tribulation, trouble.

So the way of suffering and tribulation IS the narrow way.
1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

Quote:

An not too many want to suffer tribulation, they run from it and take the easy way of closing their ears and eyes and walking in the imaginations of their own minds, as their fathers did before them.
Matthew 5:10 Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

2 Timothy 3:11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of [them] all the Lord delivered me.
3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Satan WILL OPPOSE anyone who tries to spread the Gospel message, in any shape or form.

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Quote:

Silver, the sabbath is not the whole Gospel.
The gospel is the way to it and how to enter in.
The Sabbath is but just one link, in the whole chain.

To break just one link in a chain, breaks the whole chain.

The same can be said of any one of God's commandments....

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all.
2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Quote:

At the time this was written (in the old world), men were not listening to the gospel. They did not know the way or how to enter into the sabbath.
They thought it was only "one" day a week in our (24 hour) time. But God's time is not our time. The Sabbath is his day (time) that he is in and asks us to join him in it.
God has never changed HIS ways of dealing with men/women since Adam & Eve.

Adam & Eve kept the 7th day sabbath...as did Abraham, ect.

Quote:

And we are also told where this sabbath is and how to find it. And it is in Christ himself.
OK, how does that apply to the 7th day sabbath kept in the OT ?

The 7th day sabbath applies to a certain day of the week, are you saying that Christ, was a day of the week ?

Quote:

He is the sabbath day of rest that God gave to man, but they wouldn't hear it.
Yet still....God expects the 7th day of the week to be observed just as Jesus Christ kept it, which was different from every other day of the week.

This is how the 4th commandment reads, as Christ (God) wrote it out, on Mt. Sinai.....

Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

20:10 But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates:
20:11 For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is], and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Christ made a very clear distinction between the 7th day of the week, and the other 6 days of the week.

One day of the week...there was to be no work done.

The other days of the week, work was to be accomplished.

Quote:

They didn't hear it then when he was right there walking, talking, living with them in the wilderness.
He was right there. And they were stubborn and chose to hear him only "one day" and after that they heard no more.

Again, the distinction was made with the Manna incident (BEFORE) they even got to MT. Sinai........

Exodus 16:26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, [which is] the sabbath, in it there shall be none.
16:27 And it came to pass, [that] there went out [some] of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
16:28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

16:29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.
16:30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

Quote:

They followed God's voice into the wilderness. And then refused to listen to him and chose to listen to Moses.
So because man chose to listen to man instead of God, God gave them manly instructions to follow.
Today we have Godly instructions to follow which are not engraved in stone, but is engraved in our hearts. And today is that very day.
That is the difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant.

The New Covenant says.....Hebrews 8:10 For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Quote:

But Silver..

You are already walking in the true sabbath everyday because you do not seek to do your own will, you do not seek to stone people or kill people because they think different than you.
There is no such thing as the 7th day sabbath, being every day.

How many times is the word 'day' mentioned in these Bible verse ?

Hebrews 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
4:5 And in this [place] again, If they shall enter into my rest.
4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

I believe that kept the 7th day sabbath physically, the true Christian shows the 'spiritual' rest in Jesus..... Christ.

James 2:14 What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be [ye] warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what [doth it] profit?

2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.

2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent [them] out another way?
2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

The physical reveals, the Spiritual.

It is our physical works, that will be investigated in the Judgment Day of God.

Maybe this will help.

By the narrow gate (dia ths stenhs pulhs). The Authorized Version "at the strait gate" misled those who did not distinguish between "strait" and straight."

The figure of the Two Ways had a wide circulation in Jewish and Christian writings ( Deuteronomy 30:19; Jeremiah 21:8; Psalms 1:1). "The narrow gate" is repeated in verse Psalms 14 and straitened the way (teqlimmenh h odos) was added. The way is "compressed," narrowed as in a defile between high rocks, a tight place like stenocwria in Romans 8:35.

Here is where the confusion lies. "The way that leads to life involves straits and afflictions" (McNeile). Vincent quotes the Pinax or Tablet of Cebes, a contemporary of Socrates: "Seest thou not, then, a little door, and a way before the door, which is not much crowded, but very few travel it? This is the way that leads unto true culture." "The broad way" (eurucwros) is in every city, town, village, with the glaring white lights that lure to destruction.

This text isn't referring to overcoming sin but rather the path of life verses the path of death.

Maybe that specific text does not refer to overcoming sin.....BUT the WHOLE Gospel message IS....refering to overcoming sin, in this life on earth.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

SS,
I wasn't debating whether sin is OK in the Christians life. I was merely pointing out that this text, by Greek definition, offered a different meaning than the one you and Lone were emphasising.

Hi Silver!

Quote:
The 7th day sabbath applies to a certain day of the week, are you saying that Christ, was a day of the week ?

No was, yes IS!, The Lord's Day Is that day of the week that God's Word/Voice was/is heard.
The week is a Spiritual week..
as in a Day is as a thousand years..
the Sabbath day is eternal for those who hear enter into it.

The Sabbath day is a "place"..it has a position in time and a purpose. God gave it to Israel as a "sign" back then so when they "saw" it, they would know it.
If they had been keeping God's "word", then they would have recognized his "voice" when he came to visit them in the NT.
But they were not "keeping it" in their heart or in their minds, they was only keeping the "works".

Ok. It's the difference between amatuer magicians and true miracles..

You remember when Moses went before the Egyptian magicians and they had a few rounds of signs and miracles?
And Aaron threw down the rod and it became a serpent, and they threw down their rods and they became serpents and then Aaron's rod ate up all the other rods?

The true spiritual sabbath is Aarons rod. All other sabbath days man has made..once a week and not eternal in itself..like..no saturday lasts forever, it has a begining and an ending every week, it begins at even and ends at even..right? But God's sabbath day is eternal. It has no even and no morning it is always and forever.

Now the "sabbaths" of the week that God gave to men to enter in once every week are the "rods" of the magicians..or the works of men that were kept by men to show them what the true sabbath really is.
When Jesus came he taught that God's Eternal Sabbath was in his Word/Voice..it is In listening and hearing his "ROD" His Son that eats up all the other rods..this One is the true sabbath and the One Way to enter into it.
And God's Word..God's Voice..God's Sabbath..God's gift of peace and rest..God's Son..he gave to us. So thatwe could find rest in His Word, His Voice, His Day.
It is a Spiritual Day of resting from doing those "signs" or one day a week observances..and entering in permanently.

For six days you go out and eat bread/preaching from prophets who have God's Word and learn from them. Go out and gather their words and what I tell them to say.
But on the seventh day..stay in your own house and do not go out and gather bread/words from others because you won't find it in the world.
On the sabbath day you will already have it right in your own house.

And you know Silver that tents/houses/tabernacles refer to our own bodies.
So when God told them on the sabbath day do not go out to find it, it is because they already had it in themselves.

We don't need to go out into the world every day for six days and find the "word of God", because he sent it through his prophets the last 6000 years. (one day is as a thousand years)..so every "day" God sent out manna to feed the people..the manna is the words of God through the prophets mouths which they were told to go out and seek. But on the seventh day God gave us his Manna his Word himself..he is the bread we seek six days a week and are given in the seventh day.

So The Word of God, Jesus Christ himself is the bread we are not to go out and seek because it's not hiding, it's not somewhere out there hidden in the world..
It's right here in your very own heart and mind and soul.

And this manna is that which God promised that we would recieve. That his laws "not the ones written on stone, but truly written in our hearts and minds" His laws which he gave from his mouth to our ears, not through another man's mouth, not through a prophet, But directly from God to heart and mind..no middle man required..God himself is the door, he is the middle man himself. And we hear his Word direcly from the Word's mouth.

We don't need the "signs" anymore Silver, We have been given the true Sign. And that Sign is The Word of God himself. And if we listen to Him, then we will find rest and peace for our weary souls, which for the last 6000 years have been searching in the field for.

But you won't find it in the world today..It's already in your heart.
And we are told, that you don't need men to tell you the way, you already know it. And I know you know it.

We had a conversation once about you helping your dad on the sabbath day.
If you were under the laws of moses you would have been stoned to death for helping him. There was no mercy in those laws. No understanding, no forgiveness.
God gave them "rods" works of magicians..so when the true Rod came they would know it, because it would swallow them up, break them down. And that is what happened when Jesus came. He swallowed up those laws of stone and showed us that He is the true Law of God. And this true law is right inside us.

Now when you went out on that sabbath day and you was helping your dad. You was actually keeping God's law according to God, but breaking it according to men.

Signs are only given until the True Prophecy of that Sign is seen. And we have seen the fulfillment of that sign, that Prophecy when God sent His Word/His Bread/His Son, and gave usto partake of him, his words, his truth, his life. And when we eat his words we no longer seek for other's words in the world or field, because we have the Lord's Word already in our mouths.

Many people today are still waiting for a sign. That is why many still keep the signs to show what is supposed to be coming. But Jesus himself Is the sign that fulfills all those other signs. It is the fulfillment of all prophecies in Him. He is the Word we seek. He is the prophecy fulfilled.
He is the Bread/Manna God gave us to keep in our "tents" our bodies, our minds, our hearts, our soul.
It is He which sustains us and his bread never spoils. It never melts, it never disappears or becomes faint..
It never dies.

But if you are keeping the "signs" then you are saying that the "sign" was never fulfilled. And if your saying the "sign" was never fulfilled then you are denying Christ.
You are saying God has yet to send us his Sabbath day. God has yet to send us peace. God has yet to send us enough bread for the sabbath day of rest.
God has yet to send us His Word..which says to us:

Mat 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
Mat 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Mat 11:30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

In the days of Moses they had this same Jesus with them, they had God's Word with them..
Listen to what they said:

Num 21:4 And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. (the narrow road Idea )
Num 21:5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

Do you see what they said concerning the Lord's Word which he sent to feed them?
Our soul "loatheth" this "light bread".

They Loathed God's Word.

So God gave them stone to eat instead.

Silver do not loathe the light bread of the Lord. Do not seek to eat stone. It's very hard on the teeth and not very good for digestion. Wink

What happened next is God sent them fiery serpents, and gave them a fiery law..one of hardship and work, and more work, and more hardship, because they refused the light bread, They refused the Light yoke, They refused to Hear the Word of God himself.

The Word gives us His Sabbath, which is the Very Sabbath God gave man in the wilderness. It is Himself and He is in it. And when we come to him then all our works, our signs, are done. And we rest and find peace in the true Sabbath of the Lord..which is in Him.

And we keep the true sabbath by doing His works in it, not our own. We do not keep the signs of the sabbath once a week, because this sabbath is fulfilled in his Word, Jesus Christ. And we keep this sabbath forever..everyday, eternal..neverending..
And what are the works He gives us to do on his day?

You know them. Because you do them everyday not even knowing that you yourself are in it and abide in it.
But while you are in it and resting in it, you are also doing your own signs and your own works which God himself fulfilled.
So you are saying that God didn't do enough and that more is needed to be done. And so you keep keeping the signs and doing the works under the law..not knowing that you are under NO LAW to do those works which God has given us to do.
Not his signs, because he has fulfilled the sign himself.
But the works are those things..like you helping your father on any given day of the week, feeding the poor, meaning preaching the gospel any given day of the week. Clothing the naked, by giving them shelter from the storms of life and the turmoil of their spirits who walk aimlessly in this life on any given day of the week.
By Praying for people, by lending a hand, by just being there for them when they are down and need help.
Silver, You DO this everyday..and this is keeping the Lord's Sabbath.

But under the law they only needed to do this One day a week and they didn't even do that for one day.

They did not have God's word in their mouths or in their hearts or in their minds..they loathed God's word.
And so God gave them up because of the hardness of their hearts and gave them stones instead.

Why eat stones when God has given us his own flesh to eat. His own Bread. His own Word.

Silver,
I am not judging you. I know that these things are very difficult to understand. And sometimes even hard to swallow. But The Narrow way IS leaving behind the signs and the works which led us to Christ.
And in those days those who left off doing the law were persecuted and killed. Those who walked away from those stone laws were entering into the sabbath.

This is the narrow way. But today, that narrow road is becoming the very path which leads to Zion.
Which leads to peace, which leads to rest.
Jesus says..follow me and I will show you the way.
And because he put those stone laws behind him, and he broke them, by showing the true meaning of them,
because he did this they killed him. And any following him they killed.

You are being taught the ways of the lawyers and the judges and the Pharisees who would not let any enter into the Sabbath day. By standing in front of the door yourself and saying you can not go in unless you show signs and wonders in the earth.

The signs and wonders are in in ourselves. We work wonders when we love our enemies..(WHAT! Shocked )
We work wonders when we pray for sinners (WHAT! Shocked )
We work miracles when people become free from the law by the words which God has put in our hearts (WHAT! Shocked )..
We work miracles when we don't judge people by the way they look, or the way they talk, or the way they dress..(WHAT! Shocked )..
We work wonders when we help our fathers on the sabbath day (WHAT! Shocked ) and men look at us like your not supposed to do that, God is gonna kill you for it.

We work God's miracles and God's wonders when we love our neighbours as ourself..(WHAT! Shocked )

and this is why Jesus called them hypocrites. Because some were doing those things which was against their law.
If you see a person who is leprous, diseased, common, you are to put them outside the gate..they are unclean.
But we are told, that if we see a person who is leprous, diseased, common, we are not to send them away, but to heal them and pray for them..because in God's eyes they are clean.

This is a miracle and a wonder for those who were living under the law. They saught to Kill the Lord because of his miracles and his wonders and his laws and his truth.

And today there are many in the world trying to do the very same thing. Trying to keep us under a law of stone which Jesus himself removed and gave us himself as the bread that they loathed in the wilderness.

And this is the fulfillment of that sign of them refusing to eat and loathing that light bread:

Act 13:44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God. (not the law of Moses).
Act 13:45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.
Act 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.
(this is that light bread that they refused)

Act 13:47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

(He is the way and the truth and the light to the path of His Laws and his Sabbath, spoken of by David. This is the Law in which David was delighted in. It was and is the son of David, the very prophecy and WORD that God promised David concerning his son ruling on the throne of God).

Act 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

Please my friend Silver,
do not be offended when I say the truth, that what you preach and what you teach is the same words the Jews accused Paul and Barnabas and all Christians of doing.
And those of us who oppose your words and your teachings are trying to explain the same thing to you that Paul and Barnabas was saying to them.
I do not want to make you think that I am your enemy. I AM NOT YOUR ENEMY..
I only oppose those things you preach. But YOU are not what you say you are. I know. Because I can see your heart and I know that you are good And I know that when the time is right..you will hear it and know it for yourself.
Until such a time I will only keep trying to show you the way. The one way and true way which is through Jesus Christ and what he said, and not through Moses and what he said.
Because God had hardened their hearts not to hear and had blinded their eyes not to see. And so had mercy on them because they were led to the slaughter for the hardness of their hearts.
God's Word has removed that hardness, has opened our eyes, and now we can see and hear and know, and walk that narrow path which once was made very difficult by those who opposed Moses. But now are free to walk and partake of that light bread in the sabbath day of the Lord..which is TODAY..This world, this age..and forevermore.

That Narrow path is the very path that the Jews would let no one enter. And they entered not in themselves.
You had to go against the whole Jewish system to get in there..and not many chose to go through that tribulation.
They chose to remain under the law and that system and avoid prosecution from people like (Saul).

The wide path is the path that the Jews were leading them into..since the day they loathed the light bread of the Lord. The Word of God himself.

You Silver, prosecute me when I do not keep the signs of the sabbath. You say that I will be condemned because I like the light bread, I love the light bread. And you say that that light bread is going to lead me to hell.
You say if I do not keep the law as written by Moses in the stone that I will go to hell. But Jesus says that if I don't keep his Word then I'm in hell already and that his word is not in me.
You call me a sinner because I do not keep the works of the law myself.
Jesus calls me righteous because his works are in me and he keeps me himself.
You say I am damned because I walk in the ways of the world.
Jesus says I am saved because I walk in the path he set before me. His own life which he laid down for us to walk upon, which is the path that leads the way.

Now I have a choice. I can either remain under the law seeking signs and eating stones.
Or,
I can come out from under that law, entr God's Word, acknowledge that the signs have been fulfilled and eat his bread which he rained down from heaven. That manna which Moses did not give to them, but which God himself gives to us.

I have made my choice. I have chosen the narrow way, which has been persocuted for the last 6000 years by man.
And I will walk by the light, eating light bread and entering into his rest which is his Word, which he has given all of us to partake of.

Come out yourself of that wide path. And Hear the Word of God in your own heart.
I know you do..you just don't see it yet.
But I do..because I care and I truly love you as a child of God. Even if we both are on opposing paths..and it seem as if we are walking on seperate roads..
I know all roads lead to him.
So them we are walking arm in rm and hand in hand, even while we are battling together in the journey.. Very Happy

your sword and my sword one day will become the same sword, because there is only one sword which can cut down all other swords and that is the Lord's sword.
Which proceeds out of his mouth.
So even if we "fight" we can fight in Love.
Because even if I cut you, It is not because I hate you, but because I love you.
And I know you feel the same.

So I take your words that you say to me in the spirit of love, and I return them back to you with my words in the spirit of love. Never intending to hurt or bruise..just to get your attention.
Wink

Silver:

Quote:
2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Yes!

But the sabbath was not a works..it was a "SIGN".

Exo 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Luk 11:15 But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.
Luk 11:16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.

The only SIGN left to give was his death, burial, and resurection.
On the seventh day he died and was buried and was raised again..
on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.

This IS the SIGN of the Sabbath that God wanted them to see when it came to pass.
But they didn't see it. They didn't understand.

Here is another:
Speaking concerning the laws and the sacrifices offered in the temple..

Luk 21:5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones (laws) and gifts (sacrifices), he said,
Luk 21:6 As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Luk 21:7 And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?

These very signs took place in their day, in their generation. And they saw them come to pass.

Luk 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
Luk 21:9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
Luk 21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
Luk 21:11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
Luk 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

(consider Paul and Barnabas)

Luk 21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
Luk 21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
Luk 21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
Luk 21:16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
(This is what Saul was doing)

Luk 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
Luk 21:18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
Luk 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
Luk 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
Luk 21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
Luk 21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
Luk 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
Luk 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Luk 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Luk 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Luk 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
(this is what Paul and Stephen saw)

Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

All of these signs were fulfilled. And all of these signs came to pass.

Only now, we deny it. We say..it is still going to happen, we are still waiting for those signs to be fulfilled..
thereby calling God himself a liar.

1Co 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
1Co 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
1Co 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
1Co 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
1Co 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
1Co 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
1Co 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1Co 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
1Co 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
1Co 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
1Co 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
1Co 1:31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

The Sign the Jews seek and the Wisdom the Greeks seek are in the Lord himself and what he accomplished on the cross himself.

The signs and the Sign shows us and leads us to Jesus Christ.
All signs lead to him.

The Sabbath and sabbaths were signs which were turned into laws..but in the beginning they were not man laws they were the truth of what was coming to pass.
And if they had been looking up they would have seen,
but everyone abandoned the Lord that day..except a few who stood by his cross and watched the fulfillment of prophecy before their very eyes.

Signs and works are not the same.
Signs show what are coming, works show what has already been done.

If you are doing the Lord's work, then you are resting from your own works.
If you are keeping the sign, then you already have it because it has already been revealed.

This is addressed to anyone and everyone, who thinks that they are a Christian (Yes, me included).......

Satan knows just what God will accept, and what God will NOT accept..

In other words, satan knows what will cause a person who thinks that they are a Christian, to be LOST !

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

satan knows the Bible better than any man/woman alive.
AND, that is his advantage !

God has warned us.....

'satan, which deceives the whole world', (Revelation 12:9)

God has also told us where satan would deceive us the most, in regards to causing a person to lose out on eternal life.......

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Hi Silver:

Quote:
Satan knows the Bible better than any man/woman alive.

God has warned us.....

'Satan, which deceives the whole world', (Revelation 12:9)

I disagree:

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

That world has passed away. Those who were in authority and had control over Israel. The Priests and Pharisees and Sadducees and Scribes who sat in Moses seat..which are Satan's brood. These are gone. and only remain in power if we allow their teachings and beliefs to remain.

1Co 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
1Co 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
1Co 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

Here is what Satan does know:

1Co 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?

and what he doesn't know:

Quote:
even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

So Satan rules over your desires of the flesh, while God has rule over your spirit.
Satan only knows the carnal knowledge, he does not understand the spiritual knowledge. When Satan attacked Job he attacked his flesh, bur his spirit he ad no control over.

Satan deceives the world of flesh and carnal minds, they believe they can save themselves by their own works and merits. Woe unto you scribes and pharisees..
these are the children of the devil.
And these ruled over that world.

Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the un-circumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

He showed us who the liars were. He showed us who was sitting in Moses seat. They are Satan in the flesh.
Just as those who opposed that way of teaching are Christ in the flesh.

Rev 2:8 And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive;
Rev 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
Rev 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

These are those who you say "know" the scriptures.
This is him who you say know the scriptures better than Christians themselves:

Joh 8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
Joh 8:40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
Joh 8:41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
Joh 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
Joh 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Joh 8:45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.
Joh 8:46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
Joh 8:47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. Joh 8:48 Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
Joh 8:49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
Joh 8:50 And I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
Joh 8:51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.
Joh 8:52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
Joh 8:53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?
Joh 8:54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
Joh 8:55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
Joh 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
Joh 8:57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
Joh 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Joh 8:59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Can you SEE who Satan is Silver..
the ones who took up "stones" to kill him.

LT:Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

That world has passed away. Those who were in authority and had control over Israel. The Priests and Pharisees and Sadducees and Scribes who sat in Moses seat..which are Satan's brood. These are gone. and only remain in power if we allow their teachings and beliefs to remain.

That world has passed away???? Are you oblivious to the evil in this present world? No, we wrestle against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world and against spiritual wickedness every day. That is why we are commanded to put on the full armour of God:

Eph 6:13-17
13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

How many people can find in the Bible, the definition of what Righteousness is ?

We are to put on His righteousness. That is to be perfect, meaning completely sincere. Not holding anything back from God, not loving any one sin more, than we love God. Having no idols, trusting in Him by obeying His Word and keeping His Commands, being transformed by the power of His Word. Yielding to the Holy Spirit, and being conformed to the character and image of the Lord Jesus Christ, and having a clear conscience. The kingdom of God is within you.
