Who are you to fullfill that request?

Prayer request is like the Pharisee and the sinner.

Who are you and who am I?

We're people who love God and care about others.

There are times when we have little strength. There are times when we are weak and don't know if we can endure. During those times, our brothers and sisters are there.

Do you remember the poem 'Footprints?' I have that poem on my wall in my hallway. In that poem, when the going got tough there were one set of footprints. Why? Because that's when we are at our weakest. That's when God's love carries us through.

That same sentiment is true of your spiritual brethren. There are times when we can't make it on our own. There are times when we don't even have the strength to say a prayer. It's those times when we lean on others who do have the strength who will pray with us and for us.

I have been in both positions. I have asked that others pray for me and with me and I have prayed for others.

Some churches make you feel like you have to be someone special in the church or a baptized member of the congregation to pray for others. But we are already special to God. We are His adopted children. God asks only that we love Him and that we love one another. Jesus died for us and yet he asks only that we accept him as our savior and follow him. We need to be there in time of need for one another and praying for each other is just one way we can do that. We need to lean on each other and hold each other up. As part of the flock of Christ this is how we thrive.

and we are the lively stones built up in him. And when one of those lively stones become weak, we come and support that one until they be made strong.
Reminds me so much of when they were rebuilding the walls. And this tribe or family would go and help that family fix it...where is that?:

Nehemiah chapter 3..speaks to me of how all came together to build and make strong the kingdom which was being rebuilt. We see the works of their hands and the tools they used to fortify and build with. But in the spiritual kingdom there are no earthly tools. We build it up with our hearts and prayers, and we make the pillars and the doors strong by supporting those who support us..and each part has it's strengths and weaknesses and wherever we are needed that's where we are sent.
And like Philip who was caught up by the spirit was needed in the city and so left the man that was baptised by the carriage, because now that part had been made strong. Philip was being led to another place which needed fortifying and strength.

So then our prayers are words (tools) which we give from our hearts to help build the spiritual kingdom which lively stones we are.
