|
|
God's 'Investigative Judgment Day' involves FAR, FAR more then what most people think !
A Christian's health picture witnesses to other people, whether a person has followed God's health message given in the Bible.
Since most illnesses are caused by dietary factors, diet reveals whether a person has totally committed their lives to Jesus Christ or not.
Matthew 4:3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
The point of appetite is often ignored by Christians, in the Gospel message.
The example of Daniel, the Prophet...reveals the proper Christian atitude regarding food and drink.
Not for nothing does the Bible tell us the Daniel was greatly beloved of God. _________________ Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. |

Your constant trying to stop Jesus Christ from getting out the FULL Gospel message is always evident.
Anytime Jesus wants to bring some truth from the Bible out to the public, you try to block it, WHY ? _________________ Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. |

Mat 15:16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
Mat 15:17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
Mat 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Mat 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
Mat 15:20 These are [the things] which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
Is God going to investigate what we put in our mouths or what comes out of them?
Mar 7:18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, [it] cannot defile him;
Mar 7:19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
Mar 7:20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
looking at different versions of verse 19..
NKJV - Mar 7:19 - "because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?"
Footnote:
NU-Text ends quotation with eliminated, setting off the final clause as Mark's comment that Jesus has declared all foods clean.New King James Version © 1982 Thomas Nelson
NLT - Mar 7:19 - Food doesn't come in contact with your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then comes out again." (By saying this, he showed that every kind of food is acceptable.)
New Living Translation © 1996 Tyndale Charitable Trust
NIV - Mar 7:19 - For it doesn't go into his heart but into his stomach, and then out of his body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods “clean.”)
New International Version © 1973, 1978, 1984 International Bible Society
ESV - Mar 7:19 - “since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.)
NASB - Mar 7:19 - because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?" ({Thus He} declared all foods clean.) New American Standard Bible © 1995 Lockman Foundation
RSV - Mar 7:19 - since it enters, not his heart but his stomach, and so passes on?" (Thus he declared all foods clean.)Revised Standard Version © 1947, 1952.
ASV - Mar 7:19 - because it goeth not into his heart, but into his belly, and goeth out into the draught? [This he said], making all meats clean.American Standard Version 1901 Info
so are all foods clean or are there still meats which "we" should consider unclean?
If meat of whatever sort it is, is purged in the belly and then goes out in the draught..thus purifying all meats, then why do we still live under..the rule of "unclean" meats?
I think the reason why there was a distinction between clean and unclean meats was to be able to seperate the different nations by their eating habits. You couldn't do it by their inner spiritual habits..there was good and bad in all peoples. But the different customs that divided them made it possible to see the difference between the nations.
But now...
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
There is no more need to "define" people by the foods they eat or the customs they keep, but rather by the fruits they bring forth from the belly and not the meats which enter into it.
It's those fruits and that meat which proceeds out of the hearts and mouths that God will judge..
what seperates us today is not about if we wash our hands or if we eat pork or sew together linen and wool..
although these were good "visuals" to be able to determine the different nations. what seperates us today is how we treat eachother and how we speak to one another..these are the fruits and the meats that God investigates.
Hugs Silver

| What a person eats reveals their relationship to God.
By that I mean, God wants people to be as healthy as possible.
It is a reflection of their Christian witnessing.
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: Here is revealed the witnessing part of being a Christian.
A person eating junk food shows they have no respect for God's temple.......
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
3:17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.
6:19 What ? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.
Think about it for a minute, everyone......God used FOOD ....as a test for Adam & Eve.
And, they were sinless and perfect beings.
We, who have a sinful nature, are more prone to doing wrong that they ever were.
How much MORE....do we need to watch ourselves ? _________________ Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. |

ok, I'm on a diet..and I'm not going to say junk food is good for you. Too much junk food can kill you, that's true. But junk food in itself does not defile the body. It's eating too much of it that will.
Jesus just got finished telling us, it's not what goes in the mouth that defiles a man but what comes out of his mouth, this defiles a man..
so, If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy, for the temple is holy, which temple ye are.
And how can we defile the temple? Surely not with meats which are purged in the belly and cast out in the latrine..
It's the same as a good tree bearing evil fruit and and evil tree bearing good fruit..
If I eat pork or shellfish will that defile the temple? Jesus says no.
Ok new metaphor..
The church is the temple..(the mouth)
Those that enter in are the meats.
when we first enter the church we are "unclean meats"..
we live in the church and are "purged" from all "uncleaness"..we come out "clean".
The problem is when you have "clean meats" going into the church and they come out "defiled"...
And those who "defile" the temple..or the body of the church..those who cause others to fall away or make unclean..these will God destroy.
that one who defiles the temple..by bringing in heresies or leading others astray..this is the unclean meat..which defiles the body..these are the swine who muddy the waters.
Now is that unclean meat already in the church and needs to be vomited out..like poison? or is it one who comes in and is not yet purged?
I can be 500 lbs and eat junk food as a staple and still be beautifully clean and spotless on the inside of my heart.
It's not the outward appearance that needs to be scrutinized but the heart of the person and whether they are "clean" or "unclean" meat.
In the Old Testament we see a shadow of what the inward appearance should look like..all gold plated and washed and neat..everything in it's proper place and a time to do all things.
What should have been a shadow of the inside was manifested in their outward beauty. Their clothes, their sacrifices, their devotions...
But we also see that over time that all that beauty on the outside doesn't make one beautiful on the inside. Actually it led them to be more conscious of their fleshly appearance than their spiritual appearance.
But what it should have represented is the truth of what we should look like on the inside and not be so concerned with the outward appearance.
I have seen many beautiful churches all shining in their glory. Big stain glassed windows, gold decorations, grand statues and hard wood floors..oh so beautifully decorated and perfect...
and seen the worst kind of people, hypocrites, slanderers, gossips, backbiters..come out of those same beautifully decorated buildings..
Know ye not ( the church) that ye are the temple of the Holy Spirit...it's not what goes in the mouth that defiles the body..but what comes out of the mouth..
because in that church is where the heart is..and if the hearts not right, it won't produce right hearts.
I understand the physical implications of keeping oneself healthy Silver..and I agree we all need to take better care of our physical needs..
But if we don't take care of our "spiritual" nutrition first, then all that physical labor will be in vain.
You know the Temple in the NT was supposed to be the house of God..God's body of believers:
Jhn 2:13 ¶ And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
Jhn 2:14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
Jhn 2:15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;
Jhn 2:16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
Jhn 2:17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
Jhn 2:18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
Jhn 2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Jhn 2:20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
Jhn 2:21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
The temple which we are..his body.
Jesus went into the physical temple and demonstrated how he chased out those who were "defiling" the temple.
These were the "unclean" meats.
He purged them and they were scattered in the drought.
He told them, Destroy "my" body..which temple we are..and in three days I will raise it up.
The new body (church) the new (stones and foundation) was being laid. And even though they tried to destroy this new way of life, they didn't succeed because in three days..faith was renewed.
They thought he meant the physical temple..46 years it took them to build it..all shiny and pretty and perfect on the outside. Gardens and pools and places of worship and sacrifices..all beautifully outwardly adorned..
but on the inside...a den of theives and merchandisers.
Now if you go back and read your first post..consider the "inside" of the temple..and those things that lurk there and whether they have been purged by God's Investigative judgement in your body.
Inside all of us at one time or another lurk dark and mean things..
You remember in Ezekiel when God is showing him the temple? Look toward the south, east, north..what do you see?
When God investigates our bodies..personally inside spiritually..he brings along a scourge of small cords and purges us from things that are within.
He takes a conscience that is laden wih iniquity and creates in us a new heart and mind by removing the old and replacing them with new foods, fruits, meats, water, milk..a whole new diet plan one built on spiritual fitness and health.
And from there we begin to see external changes from the internal nutrition we are recieving.
If you don't eat well, physically, your physical body will show signs and it will also weigh on your spirit maybe making some depressed or low self esteem..
If you don't eat well, spiritually, your spiritual body will show signs and it will also reflect in your physical body, making us sick and get diseases.
Paul makes a comment:
1Cr 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit.
1Cr 15:46 Howbeit that [was] not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
1Cr 15:47 The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] the Lord from heaven.
1Cr 15:48 As [is] the earthy, such [are] they also that are earthy: and as [is] the heavenly, such [are] they also that are heavenly.
1Cr 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
If I use Adam as a metaphor for the body or the church..
I can see how the first body/church was earthy and not spiritual..But after that which was spiritual.
But we can see that even though Adam was "perfect" on the outside, he had some issues on the inside.
And we see Jesus who wasn't very "perfect" on the outside (dirty hands and all) and was yet most beautiful on the inside.
so as Israel had borne the image of the earthy (temple), they would also bear the image of the heavenly (temple)..
And Israel is spiritual and not physical.
And God knows them by investigating what comes out of the mouth and not what goes into it.
| Quote: | The example of Daniel, the Prophet...reveals the proper Christian atitude regarding food and drink.
Not for nothing does the Bible tell us the Daniel was greatly beloved of God. |
again Daniel is an awesome example..but consider the food that he chose to eat versus the food he chose not to eat..He chose not to eat the "dainties" set before the king and chose rather to humble himself with the "food" he was accustomed to eating.
What kind of food was Nebu eating? Greed, envy, domination, superiority, riches, fame..?
Daniel didn't require that food because the food he chose was more nutritious for him..
gentleness, kindness, humility, joy, mercy...
ah Silver..
God Bless You Bro..
Luv ya
Hugs

In light of the above....how does Isaiah fit in ?
