A Course in Miracles

A Course in Miracles is a study course that is very popular with New Thought churches like Religious Science and Unity. I haven't personally taken the course. It's a very hotly debated subject because the text was supposedly dictated by Jesus in the mid sixties to a woman who finally published it in 1976.

There was a time when I was encouraged to take it. When I found out that it was "channeled" from Jesus, that was enought to turn me off to it right away.

Was hoping someone might know more about it.

I read a book the other day that mentioned 'a course in miracles' quite frequently. The book was called "the light that was dark" (or something very similar to that.)
I guess the course book teaches that evil doesn't exist, and this became a problem to the characters in the book becuase they were taking the course, but they were constantly being possessed by evil spirits.
They concluded that the 'Jesus' in the course/miracles book was not the true Jesus (obviously) and figured out, by reading the bible, that the (supposedly) true Jesus casts out evil spirits, and all you have to do is use his name and , yah.

THe Bible claims that satan performes miracles to deceive people into thinking that those miracles are from God, proving that the person performing them, is a godly person.

Revelation 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs [come] out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, [which] go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
