NB: We don't have to want to be sick,
but we must love self as sick
in order to
love the sick as ourselves?

Can you be comfortable experiencing extreme discomfort?
If pain became pleasure then I am a masochist am I not?
And even though I love all masochists that tendancy might be a deviation from the perfection God intends.

W,
The comfort in the extreme discomfort comes from the Comfort of Love for the discomfort.
see 2 cor 12:9-10.
That COL is quite different from the comfort.
Just as the Discomfort of Hatred that comes from hating discomfort is also quite different from the discomfort.
With all my Love for discomfort, if I had a bad tooth, I wd get it out or get it repaired to get rid of the oral discomfort.
What the Confort of Love does primarily is eliminate the other psychological and spiritual discomfort that comes from hating discomfort, which hatred for the discomfort actually causes the physical discomfort to increase to at least double the physical discomfort....as in psychosomatic illnesses.
So, the comfort I wd feel while in Love experiencing extreme discomfort wd be primarily spiritual and psychological and mental and emotional.
By eliminating Hatred of Discomfort, HOD,
or the Discomfort of Hatred, DOH,
the Comfort of Love halves the physical pain leaving just the actual pain which may be little, medium or extreme still!
If extreme, you in extreme 100% Love, now have the option of and can choose the option of getting pain-killers to eliminate that residual extreme pain...also knowing that as your attitude of Love takes over, the physical pain MUST subside---as God wd have IN LOVE made it to do!
God had to make pain to tell us when something ELSE is wrong or going wrong!
So he designed pain to switch off or to be switched off by us by food or painkilling drugs, which all come from foods anyway or are based on what foods do.
So W, if I were in exteme pain, I wd be drinking milk which is a natural painkiller due to the calcium in it, and taking calcium tablets and vitanmin A which helps the body absorb the calcium, and etc.
Makes sense?

A: Hopefully, the answers above would have disabused you of, or at least tended to deviate you from the notion that Love of the pain which God created cd make us deviate from the Pleasurable Perfection of Undeviated Love for pain and pleasure!smile

Dear atoz,
And we can empathize (having experienced pain ourselves and learning to love on all levels through it) with a persons pain with Love's love....showing them the way of acceptance (with joy) of the pain which I believe can be God's calling upon that person to a knowledge of Himself.
What I've just said sounds convoluted....help me say it better, brother, if you can

U have said it as perfectly as I can and could have--but only dfferently in your own inimiatble style and in your own other words -- but just as good or better than me!
That's the Glory of Love: that we can each say the same thing in the infinite variety of ways!
The physical convolutions of the brain as designed by God with form following function is why we will all sound convoluted when expressing any idea in Love!: we are actually talking in circles as we tie in the beginning of what we are saying to its end---logically!

After 25 years, it is STILL amazing and wonderful to me amd I still stand in awe and in awestruck admiration of God for His Love!
Now google patty labelle's "I've got a new attitude" and look at the words about tying loose ends together!
Then google for a pic of the brain and notice the convolutions and think how convolutions go with reolutions and how revolutions go with circles and how circles go with Love: which makes the world and daters go round and how everything is a cicle--sunset and sundown--the name of another song which ties into Eccles 3:1 and 2-8 and around and around we go which is another song by dolly parton and kenny rogers!smile
In other words, u are just wi-fi, Lady Di-vine! Which is another song by lionel ritchie: 3 times a lady--u being infinity times a lady: the Infinite Lady, the LOL and the LIL: the Lady of Love and the Lady in Love, which is another song: the lady in red!smile
See how Love auto reproduces voluminous convolutions?!smile

Hey, thanks a bunch for your reply.
I looked up Patti's song - which I already knew - but I always do what I'm told. lol I know about that new attitude...thank you Lord for your love and the life and light that flows from You.
After a moment of nausea....the photo of the brain (which I hadn't seen one in a long time) reminded me how fearfully and wonderfully we are made. With all the convolutions and circles and cycles that is what is being human is (just practicing convolution).

Now since JC is God
and
God is Love
and
JC is Bread
and
Bread is a Word
and
we are to live by every word of God, Mt 4:4, Luke 4:4
and
the brain works by the bread of words, which is why we DIGEST the bread of words and have READERS' DIGEST and we are what we eat,
and
our brain eats words for its bread and food --- what is the brain-- just by sheer logic in the Logic of Love?
[When I was learning about Love in the early eighties, I saw an old Life magazine's cover in a bookstore for Used Books, and when I thought it was a loaf of bread on the cover as I picked it up, to my utter amazement it was a pic of a-- guess what?
