Don't tell me lotion isn't made by good Christians!

Thanks for pointing out by bad spelling. Very Christianlike. |
Christian-like? You think so? Hmm. I'll have to work on that. You know, it wasn't meant maliciously - check the winky smilies. It was more in reference to your purposeful misspelling of 'evolution' as 'evilution'.

Well, I'm sorry that you had to suffer, and I am glad to see you appear to have made a good recovery.

Well, it's good that you can craft things with your own two hands, and it's nice to see that you and yours make things. I'm skeptical that you built the computer parts and developed the operating system and browsers and other software all by yourself though,
|
I don't have a computer chip making plant in my house if that's what you mean. I didnt make an operating system. my friend made some firmware based on an already running operating system. Thers no browser on rockbox or anything. whats the problem? |
I'm not talking about rockbox - I'm talking about your computer. Those bits and pieces came from somewhere. The metals had to be mined, refined, et cetera. Assembling them into pieces that your friend could assemble happened somewhere. Making those pieces work like a computer happened somewhere. The programs were coded by someone. There were a lot more people than just you involved, and my point was simply that some of those people were likely not Christian. There probably were some atheists in there, possibly some Catholics, and who knows how many other people who don't share your set of Christian beliefs. That's all.

At some level, I think you have to admit that even non-Christians can produce some pretty good things. |
I didn't say they couldn't. I originally said that sometimes theres good Christian alternatives and we should take them when we can. read my first post. |
You originally labelled apple stuff as atheistic and used that as a reason it was less desirable to have, if I recall correctly. Ah yes, the magic of the written word means I don't have to have perfect recall - here it is:
| In your first post in this thread, you wrote: | | anyway my point is that the stuff the two big companies give you (apple and microsoft) might not be the best for you. there are other working alternatives for you. as a christian i found this really cool to not have to buy into the atheist apple stuff. |
After wrapping my head around the idea that inanimate objects could be 'atheistic' by seeking your clarification, I thought I'd warn you that you probably have lots of stuff that is 'atheistic', and anyways, I don't see how having 'atheistic' stuff can be inherently bad, though you seem to think so. I'd still like to probe you about that, if you're not already sick of the subject. |

Hey Tss, you make some of your own clothes. Well I can't do that but I crochet! I have so much that i haved crocheted. Dollies, Dining table covers, Table centers, & more large afghans than I can remember! When I first got down with the lung problem I was hardly out of the house, only to go to the doctor. That's when I started crocheing! So you could say I do something that is usually done by women!

i think that is awesome nobby....it is a good thing to have such a hobby and i hope you find much enjoyment in it...
yes i do make some of my clothes, because i like certain styles that one can't find in stores...
i started sewing, by sewing sails up when they would rip or become unseamed....
i really liked it a lot and at first i wanted a certain style of pants, but could not find them anywhere but found a pattern for them, so i made them...
and enjoyed it sooo much i started sewing much and read book after book about sewing everything from clothes to pillows to whatever...
my wife finally put her foot down and made me get rid of all but one of my sewing machines because i had them everywhere in the house... ...but thatis ok, because i only used the one...but when some of the older ladies in the community found out i sewed, they gave me their machines because they said...they did not do it anymore and were going to give them to their daughters but...
...THEIR DAUGHTERS HAD NO INTEREST IN IT!!! ...for real....
thanks for sharing that about you sir...it is a good thing nobby!!... |

I'm a pretty decent cook and not too shabby at baking either but my husband does most of the cooking around here. He really enjoys it and is very good at it. I tease him and tell him that's one of the reasons why I married him.

I just learned how to use a hammer and nail, a jig saw, a skill saw, chisel and all kinds of allen wrenches and screwdrivers..LOL..
and I'm actually pretty good at it too..LOLOL..
Nail and staple guns are awesome..no more smashing the thumbs..
I put up a ceiling and paneled the walls and tiled the floors, did the trim and the painting..
Maybe I'll take up carpentry in my spare time..as well as changing oil and brakes and tires, and working on engines in both cars and trucks..
and I can cook too..LOL..
But I can not sew a button..not at all..

I myself tried using an apple Ipod for a while. I wanted it more for use when walking and traveling though. For me it was inconvienient because of the size in my pocket. I found that my small mp3 player was more comfortable and could hold enough songs for me to walk round the country with. The ipod had other features in it too like calender and organizer, But I use my telephone since I am often recording apointments during converstaions. Switching to my ipod would just be more hassel.
Well I gave back the Ipod. I don,t regret it, But I know others who just love there,s
I also have a portable twin speaker system just in case nobody has anything for me to connect my mp3 player too. Thats something you could look into for your Ipod. Its origionaly designed for Ipod and can be used in the car for everyone to hear or at meetings where a connection is not available or when camping or whatever?
I personaly am hooked on youtube. They say they have a service where you can download onto your telephone. I can hook my telephone up to the speaker system on my car. Check youtube.com out if you have not already?. I built my own channel. Watch profiles of those you are watching vids from though. I am particular about some of the sources of my music
Have fun. I hope it fills your needs |
I just don't understand the language at all..
it's like totally greek to me..LOL..
I must be old.. |

| lone, basicly it stores sound. Admin was recording his cd's on it they well store a lot. then you can play any of them thru a sound system. You nolonger have to carry around a box of CD's & don't have to be changing them all the time. |

I confess.... I don't know how to change a tire. I've never ever done that.
I have put a lot of the furniture in our house together though and I plant and do yard work and even sometimes mow, rake and shovel snow. My husband shovels the majority of the snow and mows most of the time but I'm the planter/weeder/harvester. I go hunting with my hubby but more as a tag-a-long. We both enjoy going to the shooting range and honing our skills. We both have pistols and he has a rifle. I like to fish and he sometimes tags along with me when I go (as he doesn't fish).
He's been known to sew buttons on our clothing many times.
I guess the times they are a-changin'

welll...i do most of the cooking and cleaning...especially cooking...like 85-90% of it...and prolly 45% of the cleaning...100% of any type of sewing...
all the auto work...and any and all mechanical work of any type...
it is like...she says any auto stuff is guy stuff...and because her mom and dad always ate out she never learned to cook(and trust me that is not a lie...she did not learn to cook )...and has no interest in sewing...and says i can clean better than she can...
but she does ALL the laundry...(which i really don't care to do)... |

You know what's funny..
I love fishin but I don't like catchin the fish. Something about pulling them hooks out just makes me feel bad..
I love the nibble though..LOL..
I love going out on the lake on a clear blue day, and just feeling the wind across my face. Something real peaceful in that.
shoveling snow..hmm..almost out of memory now. rake leaves, and more leaves, and more leaves..everyday..more leaves..
hunting..I think I would have to be real hungry..I just don't have the heart for that. But there is this bear that keeps stealing the trash barrel in front of my house. empty even..
hey I know what to get him for christmas..lol..his own trash barrel..LOL..
My mom did all the cooking in our house..and then I got married and that changed real quick..
And i've never been one for cleaning the house..I've been home for what..two weeks now? and I'm supposed to be remodeling the house..I've put maybe 30 hours total in so far...
..procrastinator... cobwebs are getting thicker round here..LOL.. |
