~ Here’s the catch, SS; I don’t believe in the traditional “Trinity” as it was taught to me. I believe in God. I believe in Jesus. I believe in the Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost. I believe they are all intertwined, that they are related but I do not believe they are all one entity. | I look at the Godhead this way......
God Family:
Father....
Son....
Holy Spirit
They are of the same family (God)
BUT, they each have their own special work to do, each as an individual, working collectively for man's Salvation. |

Without the foundation of the Old Testament, the New Testament will be misunderstood ! |
SS ~ Remember that I did tell you earlier that I have read much of the OT? Most of my life has been spent reading and re-reading parts of the OT.
However, your question (above) stuck with me and I started doing a little soul-searching. I am not sure you or others reading this post will be happy with my answer but here is the truth:
As someone who has read a great deal of the OT, I came away feeling that perhaps God did not value women as highly as he values men. That is partly what lead my sister and I away from God. My sister believes in God but does not believe that she is valued because she is a woman. You have to admit the Levitical laws and much of what is written in the OT do not do much to bolster a womans confidence or feeling of worth.
However, I started reading the NT and I saw and I felt how much Jesus and God love and value not just men but women and children as well. I would reccommend highly to any woman who is searching for the truth to read the NT cover to cover first.
I do, however, reccommend that the NT be read in conjunction with the OT. For example, as I mentioned earlier, I am studying Hebrews 7 with some friends on this forum. We have jumped here and there and everywhere and finally back to where we left off in our journey of discovery. We have read about Melchizedek in the OT and the NT.
I think you will be happy to know, Silver, that as a result of this study I have grown some and I now understand that Jesus is the High Priest of the Melchizedek Priesthood and his followers are of the Melchizedek order and are not part of this worldly system of things. I understand that the Levitical Priesthood leaned more toward serving mans wants, needs and desires while the Melchizedek Priesthood serves God.
Thanks for making me think this decision through.

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened [his] mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

And, as leaders of the People such as Queen Ester ?

You have to admit the Levitical laws and much of what is written in the OT do not do much to bolster a womans confidence or feeling of worth. | Women are somewhat under the curse of God because of Eve, BUT there still is the matter of individual acountability.
God will use whom ever HE deems trustworthy.
God used the woman Ellen G. White as a messenger-Prophet, back in the mid 1800's.
She wrote 55 books under the inspiration of God.
One of those books was called: The Desire of Ages.
It is acclaimed by the Library of Congress as the greatess book on the Life of Jesus Christ they have , out of the 10,000 other books written that they have on the Life of Jesus Christ.
I have that book on my website below. |

I understand what you're saying but I don't think that a man can understand what it's like to be a woman. In the state that I live in, women have only had the right to vote for 93 years. My Grandfather drove my Grandmother around. She never got a license. She was a bright woman but could barely read because an education was considered wasted on a woman. I have Aunts who voted how my Uncles told them to. It's not been that long ago that women had to fight for equal wages and we're still not there. I am fortunate in my job but many women aren't. Women were slapped or beaten by their husbands and that was considered discipline. It's only been a few decades since such treatment was finally recognized as the abuse that it is. Most churches lag even further behind. They hide behind Paul when Paul probably meant something totally different than how it is interpreted today. Most women were not well-regarded in OT times and even women slaves were not considered as valuable as their male counterparts.
In my heart, this view and treatment of women in bible times did not change drastically until Jesus came to earth.

You're right....and God, has placed a warning on Paul's writings, as God knew that that time would come when people would misinterpret Paul's writings...to the destruction of themselves (2 Peter 3:15,16)

Love, Luv | OK Sister, hold it right there !
The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ, is the same, yesterday, today and forever.
Christ, was the God, operating in the OT.
Does that surprise you ? |

Hi Silver;
I believe God when He states that Jesus is His son.
I believe in God. I believe in Jesus. I believe in the Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit. I don't believe the three are one. I believe they are separate entities and have separate identities.
Let me clarify something else here. I never said God mistreated women or that God approved of the way women were treated in the OT. However, we cannot hide from the truth and that is that women were often mistreated and looked upon as 'less-than.'
Jesus in the flesh came to show us a better way but even then it's taken a very long time to go a very short distance in some regards for mankind.

Love, Luv | I have to agree with everything you've said here, no argument from me. |
