Some key points:
| Quote: | -Statements and implications by the President and Secretary of State suggesting that Iraq and al-Qa'ida had a partnership, or that Iraq had provided al-Qa'ida with weapons training, were not substantiated by the intelligence.
--Statements by the President and the Vice President indicating that Saddam Hussein was prepared to give weapons of mass destruction to terrorist groups for attacks against the United States were contradicted by available intelligence information.
--Statements by President Bush and Vice President Cheney regarding the postwar situation in Iraq, in terms of the political, security, and economic, did not reflect the concerns and uncertainties expressed in the intelligence products.
--Statements by the President and Vice President prior to the October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate regarding Iraq's chemical weapons production capability and activities did not reflect the intelligence community's uncertainties as to whether such production was ongoing.
--The Secretary of Defense's statement that the Iraqi government operated underground WMD facilities that were not vulnerable to conventional airstrikes because they were underground and deeply buried was not substantiated by available intelligence information.
--The Intelligence Community did not confirm that Muhammad Atta met an Iraqi intelligence officer in Prague in 2001 as the Vice President repeatedly claimed. |

| Why did it take so long to bring these accusations? None of these actions Bush took is recent. After the senate convicts him on the first ballot, they should turn him over to the International war crimes tribunal also. |

| The problem is that it's unlikely that this will manage to accomplish anything, but now it's in the congressional record. |

| How many people do you think that read the congressional record? Kuccinich has little to lose by doing this and may end up getting some additional good points amongst the democrats. We'll see wont we. |

Actually there is already an indictment at the war crimes tribunal regarding Bush and his cohorts. Internationally respectable people have contributed to this effort and Pondering's doubt is not what will determine the end of this issue but people who care about international law and keeping treaties.

It seems the only thing holding back this indictment is the power of our military and the unwillingness of the UN to force the issue. But after Jan 20 next year there may be some action since Bush will no longer be our president but just another citizen. (albeit rich citizen) |
