|
|
Although the Lord never gave us a clue, as to when He would be coming back for us, He did tell us to be ready to meet Him.....
Matthew 24:44 “Therefore be ye also ready:
for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
--------------------------------------------------
And He did make it clear, that the timing of His return would be a big secret.....
Mark 13:32 “But of that day and [that] hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.”
--------------------------------------------------
But, as long as we don’t let it take over our life, I don’t think, that there is anything wrong, with a little speculation. So here it is.....
Revelation 11:3-13
V.3 ¶ And I will give [power] unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
V.4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
V.5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
V.6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
V.7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
V.8 And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
V.9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
V.10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
V.11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
V.12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
V.13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
--------------------------------------------------
(FACT) V.3 “my two witnesses”
These two preachers, will start preaching soon after the rapture:
(And will preach throughout the 1st half of the tribulation period).
--------------------------------------------------
(FACT) V.3 “a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days”
They will preach for 1,260 days:(42 months = Three and 1/2 years)
--------------------
Then in V.7 “the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.”
The anti-christ, will kill them, and leave their dead bodies, lying in the street.
--------------------------------------------------
(FACT) V.10 “And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another”
Then, every Christ rejecting sinner on earth, will celebrate their death, and make merry and send gifts to one another.
--------------------------------------------------
(SPECULATION) What does this sound like to you. (A little like Christmas, right!)
--------------
It seems like every year, that Christmas gets more and more secular; Imagine, how bad it will be, three and a half years, after every Christian is removed from the earth.
--------------------------------------------------
Note: If indeed, these two preachers will be killed around December 25, than that means, that the Rapture will have occurred, three and a half years earlier.
(That’s around June 25)
Oh by the way, today is June 8, 2008, and if we aren’t raptured within the next 17 days or so, then we can put this post away, for another year.
But we must always be expecting the Lord to return for us at any minute, so that we will be Ready.
Matthew 24:42
"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." |

Hi ChristianWoman1
--------------------------------------------------
You asked......
“who do you think the 2 witnesses are?”
Well the Bible doesn’t tell us for sure, but most people think that it will be Moses and Elijah, because that’s who met with Jesus on mount transfiguration(Mark 9:1-13) and because of the kinds of miracles, that they will be perform(Revelation 11:6).
--------------------------------------------------
And you asked......
“how did you come up with the date June 25th?”
I’m sorry, I thought is was clear......
(1) These preachers will start preaching just after the rapture:
(2) And will preach for 3 years and 6 months, and be killed:
(3) And the worlds reaction to their death, sounds like Christmas:
V.10 “the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another”
(4) And 6 month’s before December 25th, is June 25th.
--------------------------------------------------
See you later |

Hi revmattchoo
Well, I am pre-trib. You are post-trib. Some others are Mid-trib.
(But at least we are all trib’s.)
There are many, who don’t even accept that. |

I hope you're wrong too as my family heads out of state on vacation on that very day.
But ChristianWoman makes a good point: What better way is there to spend vacation (or any day for that matter) than with our Father!

Hi luvnlife
Nice to hear from you.
As I have said before, I am not really saying, that I think He will return for us on this date. This is just some fun Speculation, about a possible time of year, the rapture may take place.
But it is always good, to talk about the Lord Jesus Christ, coming back for us.
I was going to say, that since you are a believer, I know that you didn’t mean it, when you said....
“I hope you're wrong”
Because I know, that all of us, are anxious to get out of here.
--------------------------------------------------
But then I saw, the end of your response.......
“But Christian Woman makes a good point: What better way is there to spend vacation (or any day for that matter) than with our Father!”
I realized, that you feel the same way about it, as I do.
See you in the clouds, one of these days.
Hope to hear from you again. |

Hello again ChristianWoman1
I will be glad, to answer your question;
You asked........
| Quote: | | “Where in the bible does it say the witnesses come AFTER the rapture. I believe we will be here for that...The witnesses are talked about in ch. 11 and the rapture is in ch.14" |
This is a good question, and the answer has to do with, who exactly gets raptured.
At the rapture, the Church, will be taken to heaven, so therefore we know that the Church has already been raptured, before these two preachers start their ministry,
because there is no mention of the Church, while they are on earth.
--------------------------------------------------
The question we need to ask, is where is the Church, during the three years and six months, that these preachers will be preaching. (It seems to be silent!)
I know that if I was still around, I would be preaching the Gospel, just as loud as I could.
--------------------------------------------------
The Last time, that “the Church” is mentioned(before the last chapter), is in.....Revelation 3:22
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”
And in the next verse, we have the Rapture.....Revelation 4:1
“After this I looked, and, behold, a door [was] opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard [was] as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.”
--------------------------------------------------
This is what the rapture will be. God calling the Church to heaven.
--------------------------------------------------
Also you said........
“the rapture is in ch.14"
Well I think, this is what your are talking about.
Revelation 14:1
"And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty [and] four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads."
--------------------------------------------------
This is talking about, the second half of the Lord’s return: (When He comes back in Glory, to defeat the anti-christ.)
I hoped this answered your questions.
Hope to hear from you again. |

At the rapture, the Church, will be taken to heaven, so therefore we know that the Church has already been raptured, before these two preachers start their ministry,
because there is no mention of the Church, while they are on earth.
but in ch.13 it talks about God's holy people STILL being here on earth to endure while the beast rules for 42 months....again, this is after the witnesses. it says:
"This means God's holy people must endure persecution patiently and remain faithful." Rev.13:10
--------------------------------------------------
The question we need to ask, is where is the Church, during the three years and six months, that these preachers will be preaching. (It seems to be silent!)

hmmm....see I don't think this is the rapture yet. This is the angel speaking to John to "come up here" and the angel shows John all that is to come during the last days.
I think the rapture is father down in ch.14 beginning in verse 14 where it talks about the "Harvest of the Earth". It says v.15" Swing the sickle, for the time of harvest has come ;the crop on earth is ripe"( v.16 ) So the one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle and the whole earth was harvested.
And if my thinking is correct, then we will be here for the ruling of the beast and during the witnesses time...which is a scary thought...but we must ( God's holy people) endure prosecution and remain faithful.....
--------------------------------------------------
This is what the rapture will be. God calling the Church to heaven.

the second death is talked about closer to the end of the book of Rev. 20:11
I hoped this answered your questions.
thank you...this is very interesting
Hope to hear from you again. |

Yes.
I just got through re-reading Revelations for the umpteenth time though and the human part of me feels fear especially for my kids and grandkids even though I know where it all leads.
I know you were just speculating. I used to be JW many moons ago so I'm used to that. I am looking forward to Gods promise, it's just that certain leg of the trip that makes me nervous.

Hi again, ChristianWoman1
When you talked about “God’s Holy people”, in Chapter 13, your probably talking about
Revelation 13:7.
The answer, is the fact that these saints, aren’t the Church; These are those are going to be saved, during the tribulation period.............
Revelation 7:13-14
V.13 ¶ And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
V.14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Some might ask, “why will these people, be allowed to get saved, after rejecting Christ before the rapture.”
Well, God knows, that it would not be right, to give those people who rejected the free gift of salvation in Jesus(who witnessed the rapture of the Church), another opportunity to get saved. This would be like, giving people in Hell, a second chance. Therefore we have.......2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
V.11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
V.12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
(Please study this passage in context, and you will see what I mean.)
Sure enough, people will be saved during the tribulation period. But only those who had never heard the Gospel message before. All of these Christ rejecting sinners around today, that reject the Good News of Jesus Christ, will be given a “strong delusion”, and they will continue to reject God’s free gift, even after everything that they will have seen.
--------------------------------------------------
You also asked.......
| Quote: | | “hmmm....see I don't think this is the rapture yet. This is the angel speaking to John to "come up here" and the angel shows John all that is to come during the last days.” |
Revelation 4:1
“After this I looked, and, behold, a door [was] opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard [was] as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.”
Revelation, is filled with symbolism(although it’s not all symbolic), and even though in this verse, we have John seeing a vision of an opened door in heaven, and being called to “Come up hither”, this verse is also symbolic of the rapture:(A door being opened to heaven), (hearing a trumpet), and (being taken to heaven).
A trumpet being blown, is identified with the rapture.....
1 Corinthians 15:51-53
V.51 ¶ Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
V.52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
V.53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality.
-and-
1 Thessalonians 4:16 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:”
--------------------------------------------------
You also brought up the two harvest’, in Revelation 14:......
| Quote: | | “I think the rapture is father down in ch.14 beginning in verse 14 where it talks about the "Harvest of the Earth". It says v.15" Swing the sickle, for the time of harvest has come ;the crop on earth is ripe"( v.16 ) So the one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle and the whole earth was harvested.” |
---------------------------------
-THE TWO HARVEST’ OF THE EARTH- (Revelation 14:12-20)
------------------------
(The tribulation saints, enduring until the end:)
V.12 Here is the patience of the saints:
here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
V.13 ¶ And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
------------------------
(Bringing these saints home, to be with God:)
V.14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud [one] sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
V.15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
V.16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.
Note: V.15 “the harvest of the earth is ripe”
i.e. -Harvesting those, that are “on the earth”:-
(This is talking about the death, of those people that were saved, during the Tribulation!)
------------------------
(Dealing with all those who hate God, during the tribulation)
V.17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
V.18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
Note: V.18 “gather the clusters of the vine of the earth”
(This is talking about, those that are following the anti-christ, [Those that are of the earth], who will be killed, at the end of the tribulation period.)
------------------------
(Dealing with the anti-christ and his followers)
V.19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast [it] into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
V.20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand [and] six hundred furlongs.
Note: V.19 “cast [it] into the great winepress of the wrath of God”
(This is talking about the destruction of the armies of the anti-christ, at the battle of Armageddon:)
Revelation 16:16 “And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”
--------------------------------------------------
Finally you said........
| Quote: | | “And if my thinking is correct, then we will be here for the ruling of the beast and during the witnesses time...which is a scary thought...but we must ( God's holy people) endure prosecution and remain faithful..... “ |
Although this part of the Bible, is talking about the faithfulness of those who get saved during the tribulation period:
(Other parts of the Bible, give today’s Christians, the same instructions, about being faithful!) |

ok...I read 2 Thess. again and I guess my next question is : how did you come to the conclusion that "Gods Holy People" which are spoken of in Rev.7 are the ones who will be harvested in Rev. 14? where does it say that? There must be something somewhere that makes you believe these Holy people are not us.
wow -ee this is confusing --------------------------------------------------

ok...this I can see...I know the rapture is spoken of with the trumpet call, but it says in 1 Corinth. 15:52 "this will happen when the LAST trumpet is blown..." meaning there will be more than 1 trumpet blown so again...I think that 4:1 is just talking to John, not all of us. Again, this is just how I see it, my opinion.

then where does it speak of us??
I'm trying to follow you... I REALLY am please be patient with me

Revelation 16:16 “And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”
ok..this confuses me...bc Armageddon isn't talked about until ch.16, so I don't think that's who was talked about in ch.14.
--------------------------------------------------
Finally you said........
| Quote: | | “And if my thinking is correct, then we will be here for the ruling of the beast and during the witnesses time...which is a scary thought...but we must ( God's holy people) endure prosecution and remain faithful..... “ |
Although this part of the Bible, is talking about the faithfulness of those who get saved during the tribulation period:
..but you said those who get saved during the tribulation are the saints, the ones who never heard the gospel...so how are they the Holy people too?
(Other parts of the Bible, give today’s Christians, the same instructions, about being faithful!) |
THANK YOU for being patient with me as I learn |

Hi ChristianWoman1
Sorry, that it took so long to get back to you.
There has just been a lot going on around here, and I got too busy!
--------------------------------------------------
You asked...........
“How did you come to the conclusion that "Gods Holy People" which are spoken of in Rev.7 are the ones who will be harvested in Rev.14? where does it(the Bible) say that?”
Well in..........
| Quote: | | Revelation 14:12 “Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” |
There is only one group of people, that are called “Saints”, on earth, during the tribulation period, so they have to be the same!
--------------------------------------------------
Next you said...........
“ok...this I can see...I know the rapture is spoken of with the trumpet call, but it says in 1 Corinth. 15:52 "this will happen when the LAST trumpet is blown..." meaning there will be more than 1 trumpet blown so again...I think that 4:1 is just talking to John, not all of us. Again, this is just how I see it, my opinion.”
Well, this is my fault. Because Revelation 4:1, isn’t the best Scripture to use, for setting a Biblical time-table, for when we will be raptured.
I know that the Church will be raptured before the tribulation period, because the LORD has promised that we would be delivered from this terrible time in human history.....
| Quote: | 1 Thessalonians 5:9 "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,"
|
and
| Quote: | | 1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. |
--------------------------------------------------
Next you asked..........
“the ones you spoke of earlier? the ones you said that have never heard the Gospel before? I thought you said those were 'Gods Holy people'? and not us...
then where does it speak of us??”
Well, that is just it. In the Book of Revelation, “we” are only talked about, in Chapters 2: and 3:, in the letters to the seven Churches.
After that, we are not talked about at all, until the very end of Revelation........
| Quote: | Revelation 22:16-17
V.16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, [and] the bright and morning star.
V.17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
|
So the Book of Revelation, doesn’t talk about us at all, after Chapter 3.
--------------------------------------------------
I hope that this clears things up for you. |
