THANKFULLY, I have not seen any other Baptist Church that acts like that bunch, and I think the Denomination should take the steps to force them to remove the word Baptist from their Church Name. They are a total embarassment to what the Denomination stands for. I wonder how they get around these verses:
Luke 6:31 (NIV)
31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
1 John 3:17 (KJV)
17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
Romans 12:14-18 (NKJV)
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.
18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
James 3:17 (NKJV)
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
Ephesians 4:2 (ISV)
2 With all humility and gentleness, along with patience, accept one another in love.
1 Timothy 6:11 (NKJV)
11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
Philippians 4:5 (NKJV)
5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
1 Peter 3:8 (NIV)
8 Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.
1 Peter 2:17 (NIV)
17 Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.
God Bless our Troops, and those who protested at the Funeral Services of those who have fallen, should be ashamed of themselves and beg God, the families, and all Americans for forgiveness.

| This group is not part of any denomination. They are an autonomous church and not affiliated as far as I can tell. They just call themselves Baptists. They are about as far out there as any bunch of people I have ever seen. Last word I heard was that if they lose their appeal, they would declare bankruptcy to avoid paying the judgment. They picketed the funeral of a young man in a town in Texas where I used to pastor and they were just about run out of town by that bunch of "rednecks" before it started. The local law enforcement officials warned them that they would face some very harsh penalties if they crossed the barriers erected or did anything to disrupt the funeral service. They left within 15 minutes after the funeral service was over. |

The lack of Patriotism that is spreading across this Country, brings a deep sadness to my heart. Like the photo of the old man in the wheel chair pushing himself up to stand for the Color Guard during a Parade, while everyone else remained sitting on the curbs. Even the main Democratic Candidates do not know how to show proper for the Flag during the singing of the National Anthem, including Oboma and Hillary. I thought everyone knew you were supposed to face the flag not the singer during the National Anthem. That video is on this website, but I warn you, it is one of the worst renditions of the National Anthem that I have ever heard.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/anthem.asp
I still get a tear in my eye during the National Anthem (but please get someone who can really sing it), and standing and saluting the Flag carried by the Color Guard at any occasion always moves me emotionally. How is it we are not handing down that respect, pride, and sense of honor to the younger generations? It is even God's will that we do so:
Romans 13:6-7 (NKJV)
6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God's ministers attending continually to this very thing.
7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.
Luke 20:25 (KJV)
25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.

I'm afraid I agree with you on this. However, would really like to see it upheld just to send a message to these people. This guy, so-called preacher, has threatened so many people with law-suits himself that I'm glad that someone else has won a law-suit against him. |

I am proud to be an American myself, and VCO, I must say I agree wholeheartedly with you on this. America has forgotten her roots. She has forgotten how she came to be free. The US is a great nation, and I am proud to be a part of it. I fear for her though. She has likened herself to the ancient city of Rome. It has been said that the US is the modern Rome. I hope that is wrong, but I fear it is not. Until it is proven otherwise, I stand patriotically by her with my right hand over my heart, and prayers to God for her on my lips. Thank you Lord for our soldiers, keep them safe as they fight for our freedom. Amen. _________________ Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost |

I love your soul, TSS, and I hope that God reaches your heart and softens it. But I don't think I like you. I don't hate you, but you don't write like someone I would like. I guess you probably don't care though. God Bless you TSS! You are free, even if you don't appreciate the soldiers who died fighting for it for you. _________________ Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost |

That man died so your soul could be free. Many believers are in captivity, in body. America is a free nation, because of it's soldiers who fought for it. The credit all goes to God, who created those faithful soldiers, and who's hand has been on America for centuries. _________________ Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost |

....you have your antion, your country, and i have mine sir... ...
philip.3:20For our conversation(citizenship) is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
heb 11:13These(o.t. heroes of the faith) all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
15And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
16But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Ok you are not thankful that you are free to vote, free to believe the way you want to, or free to say whatever nonsense you wish, without legal repercussion. We got that. Thanks! I thank God for allowing me to be born in a free country. _________________ Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost |
