Hi, I have just recently excepted Jesus Christ into my life...
I stopped believing in God when I was a child. I found out my uncle was dying of AIDS, and I prayed every night to make him better. When he died I was upset and blamed it all on God. I understand now that I was just being foolish over the hole thing.
The last couple of years I have had a really strong need to have faith in my life. Recently its been a desperate need and I don't know why. A few weeks ago I got down on my knees and prayed to God for forgiveness, I asked him to come into my life. The feeling I got at that moment I cannot explain, but I know now that I believe in him and he believes in me.
I live with my husband overseas on a military base, so going to church is something I can not do here. What I am looking for is some kind of Bible study group for beginners. I have a bible, and have been reading it but I cant make heads or tails out of most of it. I went to church with my family when I was little, but all I remember is playing outside and coloring pictures of Jesus.
Please help |

Hi Barina,
Welcome.
God has been and is still working with you.
U can join any bible study here.
But first, read these scriptures: they are God's foundation of understanding the bible[OT & NT] as a whole and every word specifically:
Matthew
22:36-40. 7:12; 5:43-48. 18:1-3. 1 Cor 14:20
Mark
12:29-34.
Luke
10:25-27.
John
15:9.
Then you can understand everything....even if you were right or wrong to blame God for your uncle, and how you were wrong if you were wrong.
Praying in Love for all military personnel in and out of the usa.
with all Love and Respect,
atoz |

that's the same for all of us when we first start out. Just trust in the Lord to teach you while you read, and it'll come a little at a time.

Hello Barina
Welcome! I am glad to have you here with all of us. Isn't God good? If I can be of any help to you, feel free to ask. _________________ Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost |

Hello Barina and Welcome!
May I ask what version of the Bible you are reading?
Some versions are much easier to read and understand than the old King James. |

I have the New International Version- red letter edition
I have no idea where I got it, I assume its from one of the many garage sale boxes of books I have purchased in the past. I am looking for a new one due to the fact that this one has been written in several places. |

Ok, that sounds good.
If I may suggest............
Get a NIV Study Bible. It really helps explain things along the way. |
