Does coveting in the OT have the same meaning as in the NT?
It looks like to me that some of the words have been altered to fit a particular item and not everything in general...

LT,

Just saw this.

Because Unconditional Love by definition remains the same, like a gyroscope, even tho the meaning of any word may change over time, that meaning is still made up or a word or words that have opposites which are still loved equally and so still contain both the original and new meanings AND the meaning of Love.

So all the old and new meanings of covet, and all the different words used for it in the Bible are still loved 100% equally so that all the new words still contain the meaning of the old words---the meaning of any word just being other words.

So the only sin that ever existed in covet and can ever exist in any pld or new meaning is Hate for any old or new meaning or any word or its opposite that covet ever meant.

So both the OT and NT covet mean the same things even tho the meanings changed.

Examples:
To sinfully covet or lust or want or desire is simply to desire or want anything I love while hating the undesired/unwanted thing.

To righteously covet or lust is simply to love what I want OUT OF LOVE for, while loving what I don't want.

So in Love of both opposites, there is NO sin.

So God simply uses lust and covet in both their good and sinful meanings: in Love and in Hate: to see if we are following his Unconditional Love on which Golden Nail of Love all the Ten are hung.

Does that help?

in Love of lusters and covetters,
in Hate only of hating any sinner,
