To really get down to the nitty gritty, we have to understand that God is the source of all creation, including all words that are spoken. This is the first point to understand before getting into questions of how knowledgeable or accurate any word may be, and exactly what it's meaning is.

In the end, all words and statements say the same thing: they declare the glory and law of God. To understand the true, original meaning of any word we must understand it in terms of the glory and law of God. So this requires first being familiar with God's glory and law, which are the Gospel.

From the human perspective, words are either stating the Gospel, or stating the need for the Gospel. Let me illustrate this fact using the extreme example. Suppose someone says: "God is dead". This is not a true statement as far as the dictionary, but at the same time they do not literally mean what the words say according to the dictionary. So it is not logical to consider their statement according to the dictionary meaning at all.

Really when someone says God is dead they are stating that they really need to see more of God, and to be able to understand that He is alive. That statement is, in real terms, only a cry for help.

Just something to think about. Renew our minds and retrain our thinking!
