Good Morning!

I've been thinking about this walking on water today, and well sometimes we loose our grip and sink.
I'm sure it's happened to most of us from time to time. Some sink deeper than others. And maybe they need to sink more times than one.

You know the story of the man who came to the prophet to get cleansed from his leprosy? And The prophet tells him, Go down to the water and wash your self seven times.

Why should I wash here seven times? isn't the water over there better?
where is that story?

1Ki 18:43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, [There is] nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

Nope not that one..

2Ki 4:35 Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

nope not this one...

here it is..

2Ki 5:10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.
2Ki 5:11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
2Ki 5:12 [Are] not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.
2Ki 5:13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, [if] the prophet had bid thee [do some] great thing, wouldest thou not have done [it]? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
2Ki 5:14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

I think God put those laws about washing and gave them to the Israelites because they was so stubborn. Not seven times. But daily.
I think sins and just ucky stuff has a way of clinging on, and we have to keep washing them off and being washed until finally we get light enough to be able to walk on water.

Now when it comes to walking through fire... Shocked

Psa 12:6 The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Pro 24:16 For a just [man] falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Why do the wicked fall into mischief?
I think maybe they don't like to get washed and purified LOL

Dan 4:16 Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

Seven times!!

But later we find that God is even more merciful than just allowing seven times huh?

Mat 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Mat 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

Luk 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

God gives us a lot of leeway for our mistakes. If we admit them and learn from them and ask for forgiveness.

Someday we'll all learn to walk on water.

Me, I'm still washing and getting the ucky stuff burned off...LOL..not funny really. Sometimes it's uncomfortable. Specially for those around who are watching that one being given a good scrubbing with salt.
Salt can sting specially if you have any open wounds or cuts.
Make them sting like burning...

well, it all comes out in the wash one way or another..

God Bless
That's my thought for the day
Hope you have a wonderful day.
Lone
