Scripture as used in 2 Timothy 3:16 refers primarily to the OT writings (3:15). There is indication, however, that at about the time Paul wrote 2 Timothy some NT writings were already viewed as inspired and authoritive Scripture (1 Ti. 5:18), which quotes Lk. 10:7; 2 Peter 3:15-16. For us today, Scripture refers to the authoritive writings of both the OT and NT, The Bible. They are God's original and only infallible revelation of Himself and His saving activity for all people.

Paul affirms that all scripture is God-breathed. Scripture is the very life and Word of God. Down to the very words of the original manuscripts, the Bible iis without error, absolutely true, trustworthy and infallible. This is true not only when it speaks of salvation, ethical values and morality, but it is also without error on all subjects about which it speaks, including history and the cosmos, (see 2 Peter 1:20-21; Ps. 119).

Jhn 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
Jhn 10:35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
Jhn 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Whom did the word of God come to?
Who is him who is sanctified and sent into the world?
Are we gods?
sons of God?
There came a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord. And Satan came in too..
Sons of God representing God's true worshippers and satan representing lies? deception?
When we come before the Lord, do we bring doubts with us?
Do they creep in behind us?
Are we the stars that left our first estate and have come here for punishment and repentance?

The manna, the bread that God sent down to his people, this is the word, Jesus, and given to us to partake in and of him.

Leviticus is awesome look at this..

Exd 22:9 For all manner of trespass, [whether it be] for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, [or] for any manner of lost thing, which [another] challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; [and] whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.

Jesus came to save that which was lost, and satan claims that the lost are his, and so they go before the judges.
Satan was condemned.
How does satan pay back double?

How are we to find our way back if God didn't send us a road map?
I believe the bible is that road map. It tells us how to get there by the shortest route, and it also tells us what the pit falls are if we wander off the track.

I believe the route is the same in both the old and the new testament, except the old route was still a dirt road, and the new route is paved in gold. We travel in the day and the path is clear, and sometimes we travel at night and we can stray if not careful.

But not only did God give us a roadmap, he sent a light to shine the way!!

God Bless
Lone

'the Holy Ghost teacheth' truth, 1Cor. 2.13.

2 Timothy is by Biblical reconing, the last epistle written, chronologically speaking. It is part of what is called the Prison Epistles. These were written after the declaration of Acts 28.28, where the apostle then declared in his Prison Epistles (Ephesians, Colossians, Philippians, 2 Timothy) the revelation of the mystery for 'two whole years in his own hired house...no man forbidding him' Acts 28.30-31.

Also in this same epistle we learn not only is all Scripture God breathed, but that this truth must now be rightly divided, 2Tim. 2.15, of this truth, we must 'hold fast the form of sound words' 2Tim. 1.13

In the first Prison Epistle we learn that no man revealed to him this secret that he did reveal, but it was by revelation, 'How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery' (Eph. 3.3).

What is this truth then, that demands the members of this particular hope and calling, that must be rightly divided? From Ephesians 1.3-4 and 2Tim. 1.9 we learn that this is not the same calling as any calling(s) which were chosen 'from the foundation of the world' (Mat. 25.34) and 'since the world began' (Rom. 16.25)

2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world

Paul identifies this called out company revealed in the Prison Epistles as 'the church which is His body' (Eph. 1.22,23). This church has every spiritual blessings in heavenly places.

Where are the other callings to find their hopes and blessings? In heaven? In earth? In New Jerusalem? Some other place?
