Thoughts? Personally, I've started to respect the Catholics a lot more. They've shown themselves to be (relatively) reasonable recently.

Well, real religions know that holy texts have nothing to do with the real world in a physical sense. The difference between religious truth and scientific truth is very important to understand. The Bible can contain truth( although it can not "be true" because "this book is true" doesn't make sense as a statement) but it is a special kind seperate from the truth of science. It is the truth founded of faith, belief, and religion.
Catholics also change with the times which is a very important part of any organization that wants to exist longer than the popular fundamentalist movements of their day, such as geocentrists and flat earthers.

I don't see the fuss. The bible is not a "what" or "how" science textbook. It is a WHY book.
I find much more problematic, the ones who seek to "disprove" the Scientific Theory of Evolution through false claims and misrepresentations. Bearing false witness does not show anything other than untrustworthiness. |
