Thanks to everyone for their encouragement. I have so many questions I don't know where to start. But one thought recurs in my mind every time I recite the "Our Father" prayer. As I break it down "thy Kingdom come, thy will be done..." I have so many thoughts as to what that could mean exactly.
What do we pray for when we ask his Kingdom to come? Are we asking Him to come rule over us on earth? Afterall, John 14:30 and Ephesians 2:2 speak of Satan being the ruler of this world.
What exactly is his "will"? Peace on earth? For us to obey Him and hope to see Heaven? Or do we think about His will when He first created man? That man will live in paradise in perfect health and harmony. Has His will changed or just been delayed because of Satan? What exactly can we expect when His "will" is to be done? |

Hi Jhelp,
Thanx for all your questions!
Excellent!
Just to encourage you:
Good point: Where to start?
God wants you to start first with what JC puts first.
Makes sense?
Matthew 6:33.
Matthew 22:36-40. Mark 12:29-34. Luke 10:25-27.
All those 3 passages say is that God wants you to start with and in the right attitude of Love towards yourself,
so you wd automatically be loving in attitude towards all others and God as yourself....before you do anything else.
See?
So the next first thing to do is repent of the sin of any bad attitude you may have towards yourself or any body else.
See Acts 2:38-40.
Ok?
Now then,
with that repentant attitude of Love in mind,
Philippians 2:5,
here are the answers to your questions:

atoz: What is that one thought?
Or, did you mean one train of thought?

atoz: Like with any kingdom, God's Kingdom has a King and a constitution and subjects and a territory ruled by those laws.
The King in God's Kingdom is God who is Love.
1 John 4:8, 16.
God's Supreme Constitutional Love is Love in attitude.
Matthew 22:36-40.
Then with that attitude of Love in mind, all other laws can be obeyed.....in Love.
Romans 13:8. 1 Cor 16:14.
God's Subjects are those who are subject to His Law of Love in their minds.
John 13:35. 15:9. 1 John 4:19. Matthew 5:43-48.
1 Cor 13:1-13. 16:14.
The territory is you for you, me for me, each person's mind for each person.
Philippians 2:5.

What do we pray for when we ask his Kingdom to come?
|
atoz: We are praying for His attitude of mind of Love to come and be in us so that wherever we are,
we wd be in Love and full of Love, 1 John 4:16,
and so wherever we are wd be a mini-kingdom of God, picturing the time when His kingdom will be the whole world.
I John 3:1-3. Revelation 5:10.
| jhelp wrote: |

|
atoz: Yes.
God rules us when we obey His Rule of Love. Rom 6:16.
For instance,
God tells us to, in attitude, love God and satan:
Mt 5:43-48. 1 Peter 5:8-9.
So when we love God and Satan,
we are being ruled by God,
and
we are NOT being ruled by satan who, being God's enemy or God's opposite, wants us to hate God or to hate Satan himself to get us to obey him and disobey God.
see?
Then when we in attitude love both God and satan,
we can still live IN LOVE in satan's world and resist satan in Love which makes faith work, Galatians 5:6, and resist Satan with Love even when God sends satan on us or puts us into his hands.
See 1 Cor 5:1-7.
Does that make sense?
Please ask any questions that occur to you.
In fact, please write them down before you forget them.

What exactly is his "will"?
|
atoz: God's first will is God's Law of Love.
Matthew 22:36-40.
| jhelp wrote: |
Peace on earth?
|
atoz: God's will is Love on earth:
so that all peace wd be in Love,
and
so that all war of disagreements or arguments wd be in Love.
See Matthew 10:34-36 and Isaiah 26:3 and Proverbs 16:1-7and Revelation 19:11.
| jhelp wrote: |
For us to obey Him and hope to see Heaven?
|
atoz: Yes! For us to obey Him in Love, and in that Love see or understand what Heaven IS about now, and so be sure in Love that we will see Heaven.
1 John 3:1-3. 4:16.
| jhelp wrote: |

|
atoz: Yes, the same thought: His will back then was the same as now: Malachi 3:6. Heb 13:8.
His will back then and now is Love in attitude or in spirit so that in that Love and full of that Love, we wd be in paradise and in perfect health and be perfect in healthy attitude even when sick, 2 Cor 12:9-10,
and so be in Paradise which is anywhere we are in Love.
| jhelp wrote: |
Has His will changed or just been delayed because of Satan?
|
atoz: As above, God's will of Love for us to be in Love and be full of Love has never changed,
Mal 3:6. Hebrews 13:8.
nor been delayed because of Satan since God has always been loving Satan and loves His enemy and our enemy just as He tells us to love Satan, our enemy and His enemy.
See Matthew 7:12.
| jhelp wrote: |
What exactly can we expect when His "will" is to be done?
|
atoz: What we can expect when His will is to be done is for us to be in Love and full of Love,
1 John 4:16,
in whatever circumstances or conditions or states we find ourselves in, Philippians 4:11-13. Eccles 3:1-8,
and doing in Love whatever is to be done.
1 Corinthians 16:14.
Hope that helps.
And if it doesn't, please ask any questions about anything you do not understand.
In the will of all of God's Love and Respect,
atoz |

jhelp,
The best thing to do is get a cup of coffee (or tea) sit down, and read through Matthew chapters 5, 6, and 7. This is the core of Jesus’ teachings, and I’m sure you know it as the Sermon on the Mount.
However, the ministry of Jesus had but one end goal in mind.
Act 1:5, 8 KJV For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. (8) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
As a Pentecostal, I see this event as the most important thing to seek and pray about.
God bless,
Yehu _________________ There must be a God; Natural Selection would have gotten rid of you a long time ago. |
