Jewelery, perfume, makeup and fancy clothing. God hates it.
Read 1Tim2:9 "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array"
Also 1Pet3:3 "Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;"And Ish3:18-22 "018: In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
019: The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
020: The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
021: The rings, and nose jewels,
022: The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
023: The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the veils.
024: And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty. "

But still u see people wearing earings.

This is just dumb. If God is all great and all powerful, then do you honestly think that He cares about the pathetic lives of pathetic little human beings?

And if he cares about the pathetic lives of pathetic little human beings, do you honestly think that he cares about the mundane and irrelevant aspects of people's lives such as what they wear?

You don't seem to have very much respect for God if you think He spends time hating irrelevant things.

It's simple - if you're spending time adoring yourself by adorning yourself with decorations, then you're not spending enough time worshiping God. If you're trying to attract the attention of your fellow human beings, then you're trying to steal their attention away from God. Remember commandment #1: he admits plain out to being a "jealous God."

Can anyone say 'control freak'? Sounds like the kind of guy against which women typically need to file a restraining order... Wink

PDH!

I can help you here, PDH!

What God hates is the sin of hate for self as UGLY in dressing up prettily or in putting on makeup or cosmetics or jewlery or whatever ---since that sin of Hatred for ourselves as ugly or as less pretty is what makes us over-want to overdress or over-perfume or over whatever.
see?

So because of that Hatred for self as ugly,
guess what?
Those who do NOT wear any make up or jewelry or etc are EVEN MORE GUILTY since they can't SEE where their sin is: it's invisible!: and so they will DENY that they are sinning---when they are the ones WHOSE HATE for the UGLY MAKE those who over-wear makeup and etc do so---for teh SAME REASON!!!!
see?

See Luke 18:9-14 for the principle.

Plus look at this:
God was not wrong, right?smile
Just for your convenience, I am gonna print most of this:

Ezekiel 16
1Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

3And say,
Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem;
Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.

4And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.

5None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.

6And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood,
Live;
yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood,
Live.

7I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.

8Now when I passed by thee,
and looked upon thee,
behold, thy time was the time of love;
and I spread my skirt over thee,
and covered thy nakedness:
yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee,
saith the Lord GOD,
and thou becamest mine.

9Then washed I thee with water;
yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee,
and I anointed thee with oil.

10I clothed thee also with broidered work,
and shod thee with badgers' skin,
and I girded thee about with fine linen,
and I covered thee with silk.

11I decked thee also with ornaments,
and I put bracelets upon thy hands,
and a chain on thy neck.

12And I put a jewel on thy forehead,
and earrings in thine ears,
and a beautiful crown upon thine head.

13Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver;
and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work;
thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil:
and thou wast exceeding beautiful,
and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.

14And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.

15But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, [see? In Hate for herself as ugly, she conditioned her Love on her beauty! and so over-played it.]
and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.

27Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.

30How weak is thine heart,
saith the LORD GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;

Plus, see what the names of Job's 3 dtrs whom God blessed him with mean: Job 42:14.

Hope that helps.
If not please ask any questions.

PDH, pdh!smile

with all Love and respect,
atoz

This is just dumb.

atoz: Yes, P123, it is dumb!
It is the same dumb Hatred & Disrespect we have for ignorance and the dark and etc that makes people who also hate being UGLY logically and sensibly and UNDUMBLY over dress in order to look PRETTY in order to beloved by themselves and others!
sigh

P1234567890 wrote:

atoz: sigh P123.
Yes, God loves Himself as pathetic and so loves all the pathetic as Himself,
which is why He is sym-pathetic and em-pathetic to us pitiful and pathetic people!
Do you ever buy and send out sym-pathy cards?smile
I wd say:
Save your money
until
you learn to lvoe yourself as pathetic so your cards will be filled with real sympathy!
Right?smile

P1234567890 wrote:

atoz: Good progression of thought, P123.
Yes God loves himself as irrelevant and mundane, which is why He hides a lot of scientific stuff in the mundane and irrelevant as AE says in that quote about what is overlooked.
Right?

P1234567890 wrote:

atoz: That, P123, is a beaut of a statement!
It's loaded!
You are SO right and also SO wrong all in ONE sentence!
Can you figure it out?

Hint:
U must make other statements like that one, quite blissfully unaware that you are asserting two completely opposing axioms at the same time:

I hate him but I respect him.
I don't hate you. I just don't love you!
I don't love you. I just don't hate you!
I love you but don' respect you!
I respect you but don't love you!
Sound familiar?smile

Hint: Since Love is unconditional and Respect is unconditional, Love and R are 2 words for the same thing.
So?
So guess what Hate and Disrespect are?

Now please go back and read that beauty!smile

with Love & Respect for all words,
with Hate & Disrespect for only the dumbidity & stupidity of hating or dissing any word,

I don't think God's bothered other than He wishes us to see each other as persons, rather than objects.

If you have the time, could you glance at:

I'd like your opinion.

Also, your avatar, I can't help identifying you with it, but should I identify you with the one on the left or the right (you see it might not bother God but it bothers me).

Probably neither. I very much respect the intellectual achievements of Einstein and Goedel, and have to admit that I'm not in Goedel's league as a logician, and certainly not in Einstein's league as a physicist.

I consider the avatar to be more of an homage to the power and potential of the human mind. In that sense, it's the whole picture, and neither of the two individuals which says something about what I value and who I am.

But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. 24For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate. Luke 15:22"

Dear PDH,

Maybe Paul meant that only men could be adorned. Very Happy

No.....God adorn's us with His love wrapping us in His robe of righteousness. \o/

Women.....keep this uppermost in your minds.....was Paul's point, I believe.

Love, Di

In my opinion, Goedel and Einstein were some of the most important people ever to have lived. There are a bunch more like Archimedes, Newton, Leibnitz, and many more.

Unfortunately, the things they discovered are quite advanced, so most people never learn about them in school.

Many of them were men of faith - e.g. Faraday, and it seems that their faith was more than just lip service to the establishment. Don't get me wrong, they were freethinkers but largely protestant men of faith - or am I mistaken?

Hey, it also takes an important person to know one!smile

May you overtly join their illustrious ranks!smile

I wd say, fortunately their discoveries were so advanced that everybody also already knew and knows them--intuitively and innately!smile

All little kids know: Everything is relative, as in it takes one to know one!smile

AE was first intrigued as a kid by magnets: what's that invisible power?!

with The Magnetism of Love that attracts & draws everything to it, while at the same time Love repulses one certain thing from it,
