Hello everyone:

We have noticed that many of our members are not posting much.. and some not at all.

We would like your input as to why you think that is. Are there reasons why you may feel timid about posting your beliefs or thoughts?

As your moderators, we would like your input. We want Noah's Lounge to be a place that you enjoy coming. If there are things that you would like to see change, we would like to know. We can then bring it to Admin for their review. I know that they want this site to continue to flourish. And, we need your help in order to do that.

So, how about your thoughts on this?

Thanks in advance for your valuable input and God Bless each of you.

Victoria

Victoria,

I feel confident that I have the answer to the deficiency of posts/posters on this board. When I first perused this board's topics, I saw the list of books of the Bible. My first thought was that that must be boring, probably only people putting forth their points of view expecting the rest to fall in line. I come to a discussion group for good discussion, not to read mini-sermons. In short, the forum topics don't promote discussion.

Here's what I think would promote discussion: naming the forum topics by situations that all people must deal with in life. That way, anyone visiting the site would find a topic that they can relate to at that moment or that would interest them at that moment.

I picked up my copy of The Bible Promise Book (c)1985 by Barbour & Company, Inc. Its "chapters" are arranged by topic. Below are my suggestions based loosely on this book's table of contents.

Abortion
Atheism
Biblical History
Bhuddism
Catholicism
Cell/Home Groups
Church History
Creation vs. Evolution
Death
Denominational Issues
Eschatology
Evangelism
Faith
Family Issues
Forgiveness
Fruit of the Spirit
Gifts, The
Guilt
Health
Hinduism
Holy Spirit
Homosexuality
Hospitality
Hypocrisy
Islam
Israel and the Middle East
Jehovah's Witnesses
Jesus the Christ
Judaism
Latter-Day Saints
Loneliness
Love
Marriage
Men's Issues
Military
Ministry Organizations
Miscellaneous
Missions
Money
Music
Obedience
Other World Religions
Praise and Worship
Prayer
Religious Movements
Salvation
Seminary
Serving in the Church
Sexual Issues
Sin
Suggestion Box
Torah
Trinity, The
Victim Disarmament (or Gun Control)
Women's Issues

I like the way you've included some forum topics that deal with what I'd call current hot-button issues, such as abortion, women's issues, homosexuality, and creation (although I'd rename the last one to "Creation vs Evolution"). I would suggest adding to your list "Victim Disarmament" (disingenuously called Gun Control by its proponents) as another current hot-button issue that is relevant to living a Christian life.

Anyway, here you have my suggestions.

Shalom,
Phin

Phin, all of the Cyber's Boards are facing a
complete change of format. It should already be here, but they ran into problems, transferring our posts to the new format with-out losing them.
As far as the Bible books at the bottom of the page, read this: http://bible-discussion.com/ubb/Forum9/HTML/000012.html
I'm tring to get them changed, whith sub files for the Chapters so we can break them down a little for a study group!

I'm going to see if we can't do something about that as soon as they change this over!
As for as I can tell now the Adimistrarer is the only one that can change the forum!
And he hasn't been here in a while.

I think those are GREAT ideas to have more niche forum topics. Like Nobby said, I can make changes once we transfer.
