I just thought I'd share my favorite bible saying:
"If English is good enough for the bible, then it's good enough for me!"

This thread should have brought more response...er, should have brought a response.
One of my favorite sayings about the Bible comes from Theodore Roosevelt:
| Quote: | | A thorough knowledge of the Bible is worth more than a college education. |
I obtained a college education; civil engineering and theology. (I reckon that makes me a Theological Engineer.) I'm still working on gaining a thorough knowledge of the Bible. |

How about:
| Quote: |
The Bible - It's not just for Sunday anymore. |
Also noted on a church marquee:
| Quote: |
NOW OPEN BETWEEN CHRISTMAS AND EASTER

 | Durn right! All those words in red, they're in King James English! If Jesus spoke King James English, then it's good enough for me!
And further proof: Whenever you hear someone operate in the gift of prophecy in a charismatic or pentecostal meeting, they always start with "Yea, yea, I say unto thee..." and then follow it with a message from the Lord in King James English.
That proves right there that Holy Spirit speaks King James English! |

A few years back, I went to theology school. One of my greatest fears was the thought of having to take Greek or Hebrew - I'm just not good at languages.
On the first day of class, the teacher announced that he was not going to teach either.
You know why? he asked.
BECAUSE GOD UNDERSTANDS ENGLISH!

I was required to take one semester of Hebrew and one semester of Greek in order to obtain my BTh...now I'm about half dangerous in three languages! |
