Now, what 'positive' things can we learn from them ?
I don't want to hear any negative statements about them...as I'm sure they've already been said many times over.
Have they any good points, in any of their doctrines ?
Yes, they do....I want to hear some (other than what I know about them).
For example: Are they closer to true Christianity, then say, the Mormons ? _________________ Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. |

SS,
Interesting question. I don't know if you are asking for any comments, or comments from people who aren't Witnesses. If you ask a JW like myself, we believe all our points are "good points".
In your "For example:" question, I would say absolutely. We do not follow a seperate set of scripture which superceeds the Bible. We do not believe sinning was part of God's plan in order for Adam to have children.
Your question seems to be aimed at those who aren't JW's. So I won't delve further at this point. _________________ Agape,

I hate to break it to you but if you believe that Jesus is the Christ sent to save us then you are a Christian. All the other stuff is small differences.
Are you following God's Commandments?
Re-read what you wrote and you will see that you are not following his laws.
As for a good thing to say about JW's. They really have faith in their religion and also they are generally very good people. _________________ Bless you,

Another thing I want to say in favor of the JW's....is that they are sharing their religion.....are we doing the same ? _________________ Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. |

hmmm, lets see...
Dude, you need to read more on the Mormons ... Man if I knew who your Fellowship Hall leader was, I'd have to have a chat with them so they can teach ya what ya need to know about that crazy cult.
For you to ask out in this forum what WE thought who was closer to Biblical standards ... shows me sadly that you need to learn a lot ...
Once you research the mormons, I know you wont ask such a crazy thing again ..lol
For my answer .. the JW's are by far closer than anything the Mormons can do _________________ Forgiveness aint easy, but it's a requirement! |

There is a diner where I eat where they often go to. Well dressed, neat, and presentable. I never heard one curse nor use foul language. And they say a little prayer before a meal. |

The point is that you are not to judge anyone unless you want to be judged. I don't really care what the mormans do because it does not affect me. I just think that this post is about looking at the positive of another religion and that is how we should be. SS is not a JW and has a great thought to look at the good with them and not the bad. This should be done with every type of religion that involes Christ. He came to save us and God is the only one who knows the entire truth. So no of us should ever think that we are right and others wrong because you are putting yourself in Gods place.
SS, you and everyone on this site is sharing their religion with others. This is a good thing but we should never think that we are 100% right because are we completely sure that we are. _________________ Bless you,

Revelation 2:20
Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. _________________ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
18:5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
18:6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
18:7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
18:8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong [is] the Lord God who judgeth her.
18:9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. _________________ Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when [men] shall revile you, and persecute [you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. |
