POETRY CORNER

I wanted a place to come relax, enjoy, have fun and let the creative juices flow.

Poetry can be lots of fun and there are many different styles of poetry.

This thread has but three simple rules:

1) Nothing obscene or offensive.
2) Have fun but don't poke fun.
3) The poetry you submit must be your own original poetry.

Other than that, no rules. You can submit a poem you wrote 25 years ago or one you created 5 minutes ago.

The first poem I'm going to submit is one I wrote .... well... 25 years ago or maybe a little more.

Here it is:

¬OUR FURRY FRIEND

When you need somebody
It seems he’s always there
He’ll listen to your problems
And try to show he cares

He’ll always let you yell at him
He’s never mean to you
He’s one of mankinds’ better friends
He’s faithful, kind and true

When you’re sad and lonely
He’ll always want to stay
But when you’re in a crazy mood
He’ll always want to play

When you want to take a walk
He’ll always want to go
He’ll look at you with pleading eyes
It’s hard to tell him ‘No.’

He’ll eat you out of house and home
For your loving, he’s a hog
But still, as always has been said
Man’s best friend is his dog.
