I have a very dear friend who I consider part of my family who is a recovering narcotics addict. She had been clean since march, but went out of town over the weekend and used on Sunday (the day her youngest son died) and was missing till today when we had to go pick her up.
I have only known her since she has been clean, so I am new to being part of a recovering addicts support system. She lives with me and my household, so she has constant access to me which will hopefully help. I will be going to NA meetings with her twice a week starting tomorrow and will do all that I can to get her through this.
When I found out she had used again I completely broke down not out of anger or shame towards her, but in knowing that if her slip was hurting me this bad I could not even imagine what she is going through. I am really relying on God's strength right now to hold both of us up. Please keep us in your prayers and send us strength with God's help I know we can get back on track _________________ Nowhere does the Bible state that the sexual orientation of homosexuality is sinful — it merely instructs anyone, gay or straight, that any sexual act that does not spring from a place of love, respect and commitment to the other person involved is sinful. |

Was Sunday the anniversary of his death? How long ago did he pass away?
I'm really sorry to hear about her rough time and yours.
Does she have any surviving family members in the area? Do you have a support group too as you will need help and need others to lean on during this time too.
I will pray for you and your family and friend.

Hi Key of Twilight, your friend will be in my prayers. You & her will need all the strength you can muster through this very hard trial you are going. Don't forget (I know it may not seem the same but) we are also your family & we love you too. The very nature of this problem, means it will have to be worked out day by day.
Much love bro.,

yes Sunday was the anniversary of his death i think it has been 2-3 years ago. I was unaware that is was the anniversary otherwise I would have never let her go off with her mother and sisters all alone. Her surviving family were who she was with when she used they are all addicts too though they are not interested in any kind of recovery, so they are not going to be of any help. We went to her first NA meeting last night and are going on Saturday and twice a week from now on. The people at NA are very inspirational even to me. Hearing their stories and listening to them talk about their faith is very powerful. We got her the book she needs to start working through the 12 steps again. This is all new to me so it is hard for me to wrap my head around the whole One Day at a Time philosophy. I am so used to planning ahead setting goals and deadlines, so I am definitely on a harsh learning curve, but she knows that I am going to do my best and she is going to help me help her. Thank you all so much for the prayers keep them coming I know God is here with us I can feel him all through the day strengthening her and I both <3 _________________ Nowhere does the Bible state that the sexual orientation of homosexuality is sinful — it merely instructs anyone, gay or straight, that any sexual act that does not spring from a place of love, respect and commitment to the other person involved is sinful. |

Hello Key, I will be praying for God's strength to be with both of you.
I will also be praying that I will be able to share Christ's love like you have towards her, when I am presented with a chance to share God's mercy and comfort.
Your prayer request could also be listed under a devotional. _________________ If Jesus Christ were to come today, people would not even crucify him. They would ask him to dinner, and hear what he had to say, and make fun of it. —Thomas Carlyle

Well my friend has ran off again this time with one of her ex husbands this time one who uses drugs and is not planning on coming back, so we probably need more prayers now than ever specially for her... Thank you all for the support <3 _________________ Nowhere does the Bible state that the sexual orientation of homosexuality is sinful — it merely instructs anyone, gay or straight, that any sexual act that does not spring from a place of love, respect and commitment to the other person involved is sinful. |
