quote: I can't remember the scrip right now, but I will post it later (gotta get to the dentist) but I remember a scrip where Jesus warns against harming his "little ones" and he says, "for their angels see the face of God" or someting like that.
I'd be interested in knowing that Scripture because I haven't come across anything like that. Nor can I recall anything like that.

Hi Ryck & Solesearcher,
How about these two verses?
Mt 18:6 But whoever shall offend one of these little ones who believes in Me, it would be better for him that an *** 's millstone were hung around his neck, and he be sunk in the depth of the sea.
Mt 18:10 Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I say to you that in Heaven their angels always behold the face of My Father in Heaven.
Gods Speed,
Nobby

Hi Van,
I have a great bible program on my PC, and I very quickly looked up the verses they were looking for!
quote: Originally posted by Van:
In looking through Matthew 18 I think the following observations should be considered:
Was Jesus talking about children or new believers with a child like faith?
I went back and read it some more, I believes your right Van, He is speaking of new believers!
quote:
Was Jesus talking about Angels ministering to believers, perhaps guarding them, or were the Angels in heaven?
Man I can't be sure on this one! Maybe someone else could shed some light.
quote:
Could the point of the passage be that a child like faith puts believers in contact continually with the kingdom of God, and anyone who looks down upon them (I have read the bible twice this year, etc) needs to turn their eyes upon Jesus, and look full into his wonderful face, turn from pride and join the shepard in the field looking for lost little ones?
We must humble our self as a little child to be pleasing to the Lord, That means no bragging, boasting & patting yourself on the back.
God's Speed,
Nobby

Hi Nobby:
Yes... I thought that my husband wrote that one about 'haven't rested since'. Anyway, I think angels have no real gender. The scripture seems to indicate that they are not like us and that we can not really understand from our earthly perspective. Like us, apparently they were made to be servants. To God, yes, but to those that will inherit salvation. That would be His redeemed on earh. Isn't that just an amazing kind of love? God created angels to minister to His earthly children. I do not know about you guys, but God's love is beyond my understanding.
Thank you all for your studied thoughts. They help me in my study and understanding. Sometimes I agree, sometimes, I do not, but always I learn and seek to see in God's word what is true. You each inspire me to seek His truth. So thank you.
God's riches blessings on your all and may we each adopt His love and His Heart in 2003.
