Guardian Angels?????

Has anyone ever studied the subject of angels? One of our ministers had a series of sermons ten years ago and it was just incredible. When you study through scripture, there is a great deal said about them. How about guardian angels? Do you think we have one? I kind of hope so, as I need all the help I can get?

I have friends that have told stories about people having near death experiences and such and the stories were erie. Anyway, I was just a wondering ya'll...

I think the first two chapters in Hebrews covers the subject of Angels pretty well. What stands out to me is that we should keep our focus on Jesus Christ.

They are ministering spirits sent to those that 'will' inherit salvation. Isn't a that awesome.

Do I dare throw out the question?:

ARE THERE FEMALE ANGELS??

If not, why in the world is every single angel item you see, a female? Can angels not be fellas? Would we just race each other or make competitions of everything?

Inquiring minds want to know....

I have always taken the view that angels are 'sexless'. Mark 12:25 "For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven." So why do they 'appear' as men in the Bible? As a symbol of authority? It was not the man who was decieved as Paul says. (Can a 'Spirit' have gender?)

Hi everyone:
I have been kinda under the weather.. or as we say here, feeling like a cow paddy. Anyway...

I agree with Tiger regarding the gender of angels. They are created beings and are not given in marriage. Sometimes that can be a a really good thing! (just kiddin' guys)

Isn't amazing that since Eve sinned, women have taken a back seat. Ha. I guess I will let God be the supreme rule there. However, haven't you guys heard, we are great back seat drivers?

Oh by the way, in Houston our Christian radio station KHCB is playing awesome Christmas music. It seems to bring Him even closer. I wish for that reason, Christmas would last all year. So check out your local Christian stations, the music is so inspiring and uplifting.

I can't remember the scrip right now, but I will post it later (gotta get to the dentist) but I remember a scrip where Jesus warns against harming his "little ones" and he says, "for their angels see the face of God" or someting like that. That always meant to me that they were assigned an angel to watch over them.

NKJV

KJV and NASV also say "their angels"

New Century Version says, "they have angels in heaven"

Well, God is a spirit but he is always refered to as the Father.

Regarding the angels. Whenever they appeared to humans it was always in the male form. I guess that's an implication about how they are refered to or prefered that they be refered to in heaven. Ultimately, I have no objection that they are sexless in heaven but I still picture them as male and not as female.
