Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noe [were], so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth ?

Now that's a good question!

Will He find faith?
I don't think so unless we undertand what we are supposed to have faith in.

Well now I'm convinced. We must be close to the end. People are eating, drinking and getting married. Laughing

Were they doing that yet in 1844?

I think the intended meaning is that in the end times people will be involved with their personal lives and carnel desires while ignoring the vital signs that are indications that the end is drawing near.

In short, they will be caught by surprise, and then it will be too late. The door of the ark will have been slammed shut.

Okay, having a relationship. How's that?

Who wants to spend $30,000 on a wedding that won't last two years?

The Bible, is the prime element for building Faith.

Romans 10:17 So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The Bible is the only means by which a person can find Salvation.......
James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

The point about people becoming self-indulgent is interesting.

Have any of you watched some of the shows about celebrities big houses, lavish parties, over-the-top weddings and unbelievable shopping sprees?

I think that our society is at the point where money means more and more and people are starting to mean less and less. That is a sign of the times. Money is becoming the ruin of many relationships, it breaks up families, it's at the center of many bitter divorces, gang violence and murders. It's important enough to some to embezzle from companies, sell drugs and cheat for.

I live in a community where people still care about people. Neighbors and friends still look out for and support one another. They are charitable and kind. I consider myself lucky. Such neighborhoods are becoming rare.

Luv
