I know you have the utmost respectful intentions. I love that about you. I wasn't really criticizing, but I thought the OP's intentions were for everyone to just post their beliefs & that was it. As long as the topic doesn't get too far off, I suppose we can continue the conversation.

Yeah sorry guys for making it so specific, I just began to realize that many of us were speaking past each other using different terminology and never even knew it. That was the original intend of the thread.

The original intent was that we would have a place to check out what people believe so that we could understand what they are getting at in other posts.

23. Christ's Ministry in the Heavenly Sanctuary: There is a sanctuary in heaven, the true tabernacle which the Lord set up and not man. In it Christ ministers on our behalf, making available to believers the benefits of His atoning sacrifice offered once for all on the cross. He was inaugurated as our great High Priest and began His intercessory ministry at the time of His ascension. In 1844, at the end of the prophetic period of 2300 days, He entered the second and last phase of His atoning ministry. It is a work of investigative judgment which is part of the ultimate disposition of all sin, typified by the cleansing of the ancient Hebrew sanctuary on the Day of Atonement. In that typical service the sanctuary was cleansed with the blood of animal sacrifices, but the heavenly things are purified with the perfect sacrifice of the blood of Jesus. The investigative judgment reveals to heavenly intelligence's who among the dead are asleep in Christ and therefore, in Him, are deemed worthy to have part in the first resurrection. It also makes manifest who among the living are abiding in Christ, keeping the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, and in Him, therefore, are ready for translation into His everlasting kingdom. This judgment vindicates the justice of God in saving those who believe in Jesus. It declares that those who have remained loyal to God shall receive the kingdom. The completion of this ministry of Christ will mark the close of human probation before the Second Advent. Personally, what you have posted is a lot to digest in one post and it's very time-consuming to read so I skipped it.

Thanks so much for that.

Just a quick couple of questions for clarification sake:

1) Do you as a SDA believe in the trinity?

2) Do you really believe we are supposed to follow all of the laws of the OT? (For example, animal sacrifices, circumcision, laws regarding hair/beard growth, pregnancy, menstrual cycles and putting to death a preachers daughter for offering her services as a prostitute).

Before anyone jumps all over me, I really am just asking for clarification as some of the Levitical laws in my opinion were written for and adhered to by our ancestors and are no longer valid in modern times.

I believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

I believe that Jesus was the promised messiah and through him and only him we can become clean and enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

I believe in the teachings of the bible.

I attend a United Methodist Church only because it was the church of my great grandparents. I would consider myself more non-denominational. My church family is awesomely loving and warm. I would like more spirit in my church when it comes to singing and sermons, however, I am uncomfortable with the regular use of "tongues" in a church. I have attended a Presbyterian church where many people spoke in tongues at every service and it made me uncomfortable and lead me to believe that they were giving false witness.

I am pro-life except in the medical cases where the mother will die. My rule on this subject is to not debate it for I am neither a woman nor a father to be so it is none of my business what the law book says or what your opinion is.

I am homosexual and very much so deep in search of God's plan for my life and how he wishes me to lead it. I am the definition of a fence rider when it comes to whether it is or is not a sin. It is a very hard and lonely place to be, but I have faith that one way or another God will help me through.

I believe in the end of days, though whether or not we are in them couldn't matter less to me. We should act accordingly everyday as if it is our last and be right with God. I feel that a lot of Christians are sitting around waiting for the end of days just so they can point their fingers and say "I told you so". There are also ones who detest this world and act overly joyous about the end of days. I believe this life is a gift from God preparing me for an eternity with him. Being happy about the end of this life just for the sake of it being over seems like spitting on this life God has given us and is rude.

I believe in a interpretive-historical reading of the bible. Reading something for face value makes no sense to me we were given brains to use them.

I believe in a separation of church and state. We should each vote for who we want and who represent Our beliefs not who our preacher tells us to vote for. Nor should biblical law be put into the laws of men. I live in America the land of the free where you can believe whatever you want to believe and the laws are set to the morals of the people. If America should become such an immoral place that no good moral person should live there then I will pack my bags and move and leave the country to its own demise. There is still an abundance of good left in America you just have to look for it under all the dirt the media machine loves showing us.

I believe in creation though we are all in a constant state of evolution and adaption.

I believe that the 10 commandments are the true laws of God. They are simple and absolute.

When it comes to things like removing God from the pledge of allegiance I get rather annoyed. People get so worked up on their little crusades that they lose track of reality. If you are properly teaching your child about God and Jesus what difference is some pledge going to make in your child's life? If you still think that it is that big of a deal send your child to a private school or say the pledge of allegiance at home....

I believe that gathering together and worshiping with other Christians is very important for Most people and the ability to do so is truly a gift.
