Hi Zathrus,

And even more, to challenge the practice of judging others who do celebrate them, on the basis that they're supposedly partaking in or at least paying homage to pagan revelries and denying Christ.

The best way to challenge is to set a good example. You don't need to judge others and what they do. You do what you know is right and good. Let them judge you and ask you why you do what you do or don't do, then you can witness the truth of these things to them.
And then maybe they will learn and turn from the pagan revelries and come to the light. If not, then they will just keep wandering in their ignorance. But at least you would have given them the opportunity to learn "something new".

Paganized Christianity or the gospel changing the world?

Zathrus, good job. A discussion need not even ensue, as your heading contains all that needs to be contemplated.

...and to ask whether those who believe Satanic influences are infiltrating the church are looking at it incorrectly.

45,
I believe that lying is more important than the roots of some holiday. We can justify lying but not a fun holiday that usually consists of love and joy where families take time out of the year to join each other and be merry. Humans create new sin by making man made laws by their foolish interpretations.

Well lying would keep everything the same and telling the truth would return life back to God's plan for our calendar and let me get this straight you would prefer the lies? I just dont get it...

45, No I am not for the lies, but am for celebrating the holiday's that might have other roots besides Christianity. If I celebrate easter of christmas, or any other holiday, I will simply tell my kid the truth about santa, easter bunny, tooth fairy, that they don't exists, but will still give presents and none of the holidays will represent any religious deity. It will only be for pleasure and will represent nothing in my heart but fun and time with family.

Roster, I certainly dont have anything against having a little fun partying. But why abandon the celebrations that God Himself instituted? You'll miss out on an opportunity to tell the kids about God and His plan of salvation. Granted those feast days (today at least) are rather muted and hardly the same partying times as the worldly ones, but there is value in explaining them to the kids.

45, What celebrations did God institute? God did not institute a holiday to celebrate such as Christmas, maybe keep the sabbath but he never instituted Christmans. Man instituted Christmas.

If we can't celebrate holiday's that have pagan roots, then Christians should also watch what they say when using everyday phrase's such as: abara cadabara, walah, allakhazam since these words have a rooting in witchcraft or paganism.

The vast majority of Modern Christianity, still holds to pagan religious beliefs:

#1.) Sunday worship services.

#2.) Belief that man has an Immortal soul.

These 2, satan wants the world to embrace.

As it is witten: 'satan deceives the whole world', (Revlation 12:9).

I forgot to add this pertainig to the Gospel message......
The Gospel message is God bring men/women back into keeping ALL God's commandments, thru the power which Jesus Christ freely bestows, on each and any person who wants it, that power is called GRACE.
