In todays hectic world, the words: 'rat race' is easily understood.

People are FAR busier than at other times in earth's history.

Most people feel that they don't have enough time to do all the things they want to, or need to.

Knowledge is increasing at a GREAT rate, influencing our time.
Technology, is pushing us faster and faster.

Pressure builds up, stress is increased.

Rest, has become a thing few people can find time for.

Even the act of sleeping, is disturbed by constant thoughts, of what tomorrow will bring.

Do you think that God saw the future, and provided a 'day' of rest.....to help us, recover from some of the pressures of the modern world ?

The 'day' of rest observed way back in olden days, was observed as a blessing, to those who had to work 16 hours a day, to merely survive.
They had to raise the own food......raise food for their animals, provided their own shelter (houses, barns, woods sheds, ect.).

They had to wash their own clothes, by hand.

Theirs, was a HARD life.
******************************************

There is an underlying danger to Christians that very few understand, also.

That 'danger' is that we, as Christians, get so busy as to not find time to REALLY study our own Bibles.

Bible study, should be the most important thing of the WHOLE day !

Done first thing in the morning, to set the pace for the day....to get in the right frame of mind for the rest of the day activites.

Bible study in the evening, when a person is tired from the days activities is mostly a waste of time, as you CANNOT get much out of it, when you are tired.

WHY give God your worse time of day, when you can give God your best time of day, after a 'good' night's sleep ?

Bible study, is what will determine a person's destiny....either for heaven or hell.

The greater your honest, willingness, to learn what the Bible says to do, will determine IF...you make it into heaven.

NO ONE is going to skate into heaven, casually !

It requires determined effort, on your part.

Phillipipians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.

QUESTION: How can anyone know what God's will is, unless they study the Bible, to know what God's will is ?

So, what does rest have to do with Bible study, I'm glad you asked !

I agree with most of what you've said except the studying the bible in the morning thing. That is something decided on a person to person basis. Like me, if I read in the morning I get going with my routine afterward and don't think about it for the most part the rest of the day. However, I think a lot while in bed before getting to sleep, I find lying on my bed in the dark the most relaxing time in my day and my thoughts become very clear and I do a lot of deep thinking. Very Happy
