In all fairness, JB the LXX does indeed write … εν αυτοις … which is Dative Plural Masculine.

But a big hearty CONGRATULATIONS to trettep who has now taken the bold step into using the tools of translation for the purposes of interpretation to defend a preconceived doctrine.

I thought you would NEVER get the hint.

Yehu,
It was fun while it lasted. Debate isn't about being right or wrong but causing people to dig deeper into what they believe. I think that took place here. Abstract Biblical thought isn't wrong, until error becomes conviction.

Now, I wonder how the Bible verses the Word of God debate is going?

Yea I found two difficult texts, i in the Old Testament and another in the New. But it was fun.

JB,

Just don't forget that the LXX probably mistranslated the Hebrew in that section. But as I've said before, I'm smart enough to know I don't do Hebrew. That's the department down the hall.

Yehu,
I think you are referring to Isaiah 63:11.

Yehu said "Just don't forget that the LXX probably mistranslated the Hebrew in that section."

Here it what I found.

qereb {keh'-reb}
Usage in the KJV:
among 76, midst 73, within 24, inwards 22, in 6, misc 26

This word was used as in only six times in the Old Testament. 76 times among and 73 in their midst.
I still feel strongly about my position on the Holy Spirit. I would quote 1 John but that probably isn't a good idea.

I am very confident on my position on this one.

Who cares how confident you feel about your house built on sand?

God's Word has proved you wrong many times over, and will do so eternally.

And no, I am not interested in your "possibilities" about how you can re-write Luke 1:67-68 or any/every other verse of His word. No, not at all.

67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,

68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

JonMarie,

The LXX is A Greek translation of the Old and New Testament ans is believed to be the oldest existing Biblical writings in existence.

Actually the LXX is only what we know of the Old testament and doesn't include any of the New Testament. The LXX was what the Jews had in 1st century Judea, and was quoted word for word by Jesus.
