On occasion JW's refer to "present truth", as for example, in song 91 of their songbook.
As fellow workers, we have need
In faith to be progressing
And keep in step with present truth,
His Kingdom to be stressing.
I believe this refers to the current body of teaching which continues to change as 'light increases', that is as the organization of JW's grows in understanding of what is true.
Should individual JW's try to grow in understanding to make progress toward the actual truth or should they wait for whatever the organization approves and so "keep in step with present truth?" |

God reveals what He want us to know through his current channel.
If one has a different idea that he believes is true, it is one thing to think it yourself, and another to try to teach it as truth. That is how sects come about. That is not the way of Christians.
Titus 3:10 As for a man that promotes a sect, reject him after a first and a second admonition; 11 knowing that such a man has been turned out of the way and is sinning, he being self-condemned.
God determines when things are to be revealed. Humility keeps one from pushing ahead of God's true organization and keep unity among the brothers.
