Holywind, I'll add that when I was younger, I had aspirations of going into the ministry too. My objective in doing so, however, was to preach what I believed to be the truth of the Word of God to people. I think that's the main reason I didn't end up there.

Just as well. It's been a marvelous journey of discovery, learning from God's Word, and much of what I thought was the truth when I graduated high school planning to go into the ministry, I've since come to no longer believe because further study showed that I'd understood things incorrectly. So it's just as well I wasn't out there preaching stuff I didn't understand yet.

Rev, that guy who arrived at the pretrib rapture from his studies would have been John Nelson Darby.

Hi RevJP Laughing

When the Lord "SPEAKS" to us, he does it in different ways.

Romans 12: 2 says "And be not conformed to this world but you be TRANSFORMED by the "Re-newing" of YOUR MIND. . .

The MIND is intangible. The MIND responds to THOUGHTS which are SPOKEN WORDS but WORDS UNSPOKEN. Those "thoughts" have an origin in the world of the "spirit". Godly "thoughts" come from God, UnGodly "thoughts" come from Satan (which means adversary) to disway us from following through with God's thoughts, or they come from the Devil (which means "accuser") who tries to "accuse" or "ridicule" us to distract us from God's instructions.

Who we ended up "Listening" to will be shown by what WE then "chose" to tell our BRAIN to tell the different members of our body to do. In other words, our actions show who we're listening to.

For instance, someone punches you, (thought warfare begins) "Punch him back", "Turn the other cheek", "Turn his big bass voice to soprano", "Love your enemies", "Cuss him out", "Do good to them that hate you" . . . etc.

Our Heavenly Father spoke to me in my mind. My heart was set on living my whole life ministering His truth. I was not in any way trying to be rebellious or DISPROVE anything I had been taught. I truly believed everything I had been taught was the whole truth. He let me realize that I was basically "Parroting" other preachers and I had never really studied anything out, personally, that I had been taught. He said in His word, "I will bring ALL things to your REMEMBERANCE, whatever I HAVE taught you." So that's the words he spoke into my mind. Then He said, "But you have an unction from the Holy One and you know all things." "But the annointing which you have received of Him ABIDES IN YOU and YOU NEED NOT THAT ANY MAN TEACH YOU, but that same annointing will teach you ALL things, and is TRUTH and is NO LIE and even as it (the annointing) has taught you, you shall abide in him."

Lastly he said, "Study to show YOURSELF approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth"

I said, in my mind, in response. Then what do you want me to do? And He said, I want you to study out all the teachings you've been taught so you'll be able to share, FROM THE BIBLE, why you believe what you believe. You are to NEVER STUDY USING COMMENTARIES. You may study from the Bible only and you can have a center reference column only, not study notes. I will also show you two other reference books to study with. (He honestly said that at the same time!) I said okay Lord, and I have read ONLY THE BIBLE for study of all topics since that day 30 years ago! The two other books turned out to be "The Englishman's Greek Concordance of the New Testament" and "Vines" Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words" A few years later I added "The Englishman's Hebrew Concordance of the Old Testament".

Lastly, RevJP, I recommend the Englisman's Concordances to EVERYONE. It beats Strongs, Youngs, or Ungers six ways from Sunday as a study reference. It is published by Zondervan Publishers.

I think I see what you're saying concerning the topic of this thread. It is necessarily important to study the end times, but is it so important that we should argue about it? I would have to say no. Jesus would be shamed by us if during His return we were all up in arms concerning His return...and probably even a little displaced by irony. Wink

Born Again here: (Skip the arguement remark) Just another view. If one is thinking that time is short, and they really, REALLY, REALLY!! do love Christ & the souls for whom he died, of which you most likely know for sure that some of your loved ones or family are not prepared for this event, would that not be a loving motive for fervent work of love? Contrast Rev. 3:16-17?? (I suggest that a negative response would find one spewed out)
