Listen Or Wait
A young and successful executive was traveling down a neighborhood street, going a bit to fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids running out from between parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something.
As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and reversed back to the spot from where the brick had been thrown. He jumped out of the car, grabbed the kid who threw the brick and pushed him against a parked car shouting. "What was that all about? Just what the heck are you doing?"
Building a head of steam he went on. "That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money!!"
"Please, mister, please. I'm sorry, I didn't know what else to do!!" pleaded the youngster. "I threw the brick because no one else would stop..." tears were dripping down the boy's chin as he pointed around the parked car. "It's my brother," he said. "He rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up." Sobbing, the boy asked the executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."
Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. He lifted the young man back into the wheelchair and took out his handkerchief and wiped the scrapes and cuts, checking to see` that everything was going to be okay. "Thank you and May God bless you," the grateful child said to him. The man then watched the little boy push his brother down the sidewalk toward their home.
It was a long walk back to his Jaguar ....a long, slow walk. He never did repair the side door. He kept the dent to remind him not to go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention.
God whispers in your soul and speaks to your heart. Sometimes when you don't have time to listen, He has to throw a "brick" at you. It's your choice: Listen to the whisper, or wait for the brick...

Times In Our Lives
There will be times in all of our lives
where we're treated very harshly and unfair.
And no matter how hard we look for the justice
we find that it just isn't there.
When we're offended and in pain, our normal response
is to retaliate and somehow repay.
For we want that person to see how it feels
to have the heartache we're feeling that day.
But as natural as it seems to want to get even
it's the opposite of what God says is true.
For He is desiring that His servants be different
and be Christ-like in all that we do.
As incredible as it sounds, He wants us to repay them
with a blessing instead of more pain.
And He will give us the power we need to be kind
and the strength we need to refrain.
We have to trust Him and fully believe Him
Knowing His ways truly are best.
We have to be encouraged knowing He saw the injustice
and let Him give us comfort and rest.
The person who offends us is not declared innocent
by the kindness we place on their head.
But God takes all the heartache retaliation would bring us
and gives us a blessing instead.

Wow I think thats a really interesting read!
I think most people (including myself) need to listen before we judge, in all aspects of life!

I really needed to hear that poem!! I'm hurting from something my husband has done/said to me and I know that forgiving him and loving him are the right things to do. Unfortunately, the bitterness in my heart keeps wanting to take over and resentment is building. Perhaps I haven't fully vented my emotions and I haven't been informed as to how he is planning on making things right. Since this same scenario has come up several times in the last few years, I'm dealing with trust issues and it is so painful when it feels like our marriage has this huge wedge rammed into it. I am trying to find a support network for unequally yolked marriages. Can you point me in that direction? Thank you for that poem.

Pointing you in the right direction is very easy, and can be done in one word.
Love
I believe that love is the only thing keeping the world together.
If you hate one thing, you hate everything.
If you love one thing, you love everything.
Do not hate your husband for what he is said/done.
Do not hate the things he has said/done.
Love them both, and love everything else.
The moment you hate something, the situation becomes so much worse.

Love Love Love, enough said really!

Thank you Ardy. I do love my husband very much. He is an awesome guy! I'm usually a very positive person and see the good in most situations. I know that things happen for a reason and perhaps the reason is beyond my own selfish scope of understanding. I know that satan is having a hay day when I stay upset and thats exactly why I joined this web-site, to learn and grow and let go of the garbage that is binding my heart. Thanks again!

This site will definatly help you then!
I love it..
However down I'm feeling, Someones always written Something that makes me feel better, or more positive..
I wish you all the best, and I hope your husband does see whats is good in life. As long as you both love eachother, the religion shouldn't matter. Dont let little things, like beliefs get in your way. God still loves him, as he loves you.
Thats all that matters
Love isn't just a word
