I see much written here concerning negative reaction toward God's "Law" - which by the way is God's own word.....

Let's be reminded in 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Remember, "All Scripture" here was only the Hebrew scriptures at the time (OT).

Yet, much what is written here on this board is quite negative toward God's own word concerning Torah...

So, I'm sure there are folks here whom have *ACTUALLY STUDIED* Torah - but I know for certain not all who speak with 'authority'....

thoughts?

Hi Rory,

My approach differs from most:

I have studied Torah, and I believe that it is a sufficient guide and way to and of salvation since it is based on the same unconditional Love that JC says is the way and guide to salvation.

Compare
Levit 19:17-18,34/Deut 6:4-6/10:12-19
and
Mat 22:36-40/Mark 12:29-34/Luke 10:25-27.

Proof: Abraham was never a Christian and he is the father of the faithful Xtians, and God still has the Israeli/Jewish religion going strong!

You will find that people who are negative to the jewish religion are also negative to various denominations within the Xtian religion.

Hey I like this because there is some hidden truth in here. That is that Christianity is not a replacement theology. Too many Christians have this erroneous idea that without Jesus people will go to hell. G-d has always provided a plan of salvation (and it ain't a fire insurance policy). The Jews at least know who G-d is. Christians aren't entirely sure because some say Jesus is part of G-d, others say the Father is YHVH and Jesus was a man or angel, yet others say Jesus=YHVH and that 'G-d the Father' was not revealed until the Christian bible. Talk about confusion.

Actually that would be people who are upgrading the Law, from shadow to substance.

I have *ACTUALLY STUDIED* Torah, really truly diligently studied it, and I came to the same conclusion as Paul, that the 1st Book of the Torah, Genesis, predates the Law (books 2-5 of Torah) given to Moses, and that the Law was added because of transgressions, till Christ would come.

I also found that the faith of Abraham preceeded Circumcision. But that - as Paul says - if a Christian wants to follow the Law in one part (such as Sabbath, or not eating seafood) he must go further and cut off his foreskin, but as Paul says in Galatians, if they do that they might as well castrate themselves ~ it sounds grossly offensive but Paul's language is related to making themselves childless in relation to the promise given (in uncircumcision) to Abraham.

I also found that it's possible that Adam and Eve were allowed to eat pork.

Yes but the NT is truth more openly revealed than the OT. Peter and Paul both say so.
God bless

I am just beginning to really study Torah, as in the last few months, but to study Torah alone to the exclusion of the rest of scripture is as perilous as excluding Torah.

If this is going to turn into a discussion of whether Torah is still for today there is already another thread for that.

Has the Law of Moses been Abolished?
my first post is on page 14, which is a link to page 7 of the thread
CAN ANYONE = = KEEP THE 10-COMMANDMENTS?

Sorry, need a few more days before I can make em click-able.
