Hey guys those were some great posts. It will take me a while to sift over it "all". That being said I saw one answer for my original post and that was that God delegated authority to Christ. But that does not agree with Isaiah 44:24 Look again at this section of the verse
“ I am the LORD, who makes all things,
Who stretches out the heavens all alone,
Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;
No God did not delegate authority to create the earth or heavens. He makes that very clear in Isaiah 44:24
I will look into your other claims but can you address my original post. |

Indeed, Christ did not literally exist until begotten / born by way of God's Holy Spirit power impregnating the mortal woman Mary.
God 'gave life' and 'authority' to Christ (John 5:26,27 KJV) and you can't 'give life' to a something that already literally exists or was preexistent and you can't 'give authority' to something that already possesses that inherent authority.
Cheers! |

Hi Galen,
Judaism didn't believe in Jesus either, they also resorted to the same "legalism". I think Jesus said it best when he stated that they swat at gnats but swallow camels.
Either way we are left with:
1) God the Father
2) the Son of God with the powers of God though somehow he is not a God
3) and the holy spirit which has volition but is spoken of as a power separate from the person of the Father and Son
As Jesus said, it is entirely possible to believe "about him" but not "in him".
Don't forget that we are greater then he. |
Hi Galen,
I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed , as no doubt composser will explain, so can you explain what you mean by "Don't forget that we are greater then he."

Colter, It is necessary to at least be truthful when you post whether you believe in the things of the Bible or not. There were many Jews who followed Yeshua when He walked the earth and in the first century. There was a Jewish community in Israel led by Yeshua's brother James. There was also a Pagan/Christian community outside of Israel led originally by Paul. It was mostly the Priests of the temple in Jerusalem, the Sadduces and the Pharasee's who were against Yeshua and basically feared Him because they knew He could see into their hearts.
The Bible says that God kept a remnant of Jews so that we would always understand who God's people are.
It was the two factions in the second and third century who fought against one another. These were the Jewish/Christian community and the Pagan/Christian community. Eventually the Emperor Constantine became involved and He evicted the Jewish community from the land and made the Pagan Christians the rule of the day. We see this rule alive and well today in all denominations of the church. |
