Exodus 23:
20Behold,
I send an Angel before thee,
to keep thee in the way,
and
to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
21Beware of him,
and obey his voice,
provoke him not;
for he will not pardon your transgressions:
for my name is in him.
22But
if thou shalt indeed obey his voice,
and do all that I speak;
then I will be
an enemy unto thine enemies,
and an adversary unto thine adversaries.
in Love of adversaries,

Hi Atoz
I think from memory the only time God is ever actually called "adversary" (Heb. satan) is that incident where he tempts David to number the army. And in comparing both 1Sam24 and 2Chron21 it becomes clear that there were other political reasons why David was tempted to do that. The important thing however, 1Co10, is that God will not tempt us "beyond what we can bear", but provide an exit option.
So yes we should love God even when he disciplines us, tempts us, or brings "evil" upon us.
God bless

Awesome, S3!
So what about when God uses Satan to discipline us for Him as in 1 Corin 5:1-5?
or as in Job 1 and 2?
Should we love God and Satan as per Matthew 5:43-48 and 1 Peter 5:8-9 so we can rightly with Love resist Satan, rather than wrongly and counteproductively with Hate resist satan?
Unconditionally loving God as my best friend and as my worse enemy,
