Hello Everyone

I thought it was about time I got amongst other believers and shared my thoughts, experience and learning.

I have been a christian for over 7 years and in that time I have never attended a church. I was an especially shy and fearful baby christian due to being mistreated by christians as a child. I suffered from epilepsy and overheard some christians telling my mum I was demon-possessed. You can only imagine the years of fear and torment this comment injected into my life.

I can gladly say those days are over, thanks to the great compassion of Jesus to rescue me when I was unable to trust human intervention. His immediate intervention was to cure me of epilepsy. This was followed by 7 years of psychological and emotional healing through Bible Study and his guidance through Life's ups and downs.

It has taken me a very long time, but I finally feel ready to fellowship (through this forum at least) with other christians.

Well, this ought to be an example of how a few careless words hurt people, although I think atoz is right in saying trinity was trying to be funny.

However, atoz............speaking to you, I notice Justin hasn't been back since your insensitive comments to him.

Making light of people's tribulations isn't funny guys.

Thanks for your encouragement. It does give me a sense of relief to hear you say that it may have been a joke. If this is the case, rest assured I have no hard feelings, but after much prayer felt I needed to take this opportunity to address this almost "taboo" subject of demon-possession. So that it may 1) comfort those who (like me) have been branded with the name rather than healed by christians. and 2) To encourage others not to make the same mistake as the Pharisees.

I hope my post didn't startle him/her too much.

Actually, I am also glad that Trinity1's remarks took Bitterlily aback, and that she wrote him back in Love, which made me write her in Love, which made you write me...since I had no inkling that you felt that way about my remarks to my new friend!
So in Love, it all works out..for him and for you and me.
