Historical question -- forums, and boards on the Trinity (like this one) tend to concentrate on the theory, and leave aside the nuts and bolts issues. I'd like to ask who it was who murdered Arius? Was it Athanasius himself? One of his henchmen? Was Arius killed for speaking against the Trinity, like Servetus and so many others, or was he killed for other reasons?

God bless
Steven

Hi Steven---------

you forgot to include "act of God" which is what the Nicene Christians claimed it was.

I think we can rule that out.

Hi Steven--------

the account of the aftermath states that he passed his liver so either it was an act of God or he swallowed an explosive device.

If it was C.S.I. or Quincey rather than the death of a non-Trinitarian in the 4th Century would we list "act of God" as an option? Yes okay it could be a "Herod eaten by worms" event I suppose ~ but the historical context still suggests that God might have had a helping hand. Also it begs the question why, if the Trinitarians genuinely believed God did it, why they did not allow God to continue striking down non-Trinitarians during the next 16 centuries, and why burnings and beheadings were needed?

Hi Steven-------

why did the jews stone folks?God has the angel of death on retainer.

joking of course

You raise a very good point.

Two folks see Arius die a very nasty death one says "you shouldn't mock God" and the other says"I told him that burger smelled funny" and the one with the agenda writes history.Could it be a simple case of food poisoning(not poisoned food)?Because of the circumstances of his life we may never know the reason for his death. The agenda makes certain we get plenty of graphic details though......
