heres the thought, now i have heard that the president of france had responded to threats to french national landmarks with a blanket statement. " any attack on our landmark will result in the bombing of mecca." this is what i have been told. if this is the case, an interesting theological point comes up. so what if , someone bombs mecca, would this cause a breakdown of all structure of musilim culture and faiths ? and if some one sucessfully bombed jerusulem, would it break down all of the christian and jewish beliefs? i personally believe that it will be impossible to destroy israel, as it is crucial to old and new testement prophecy. however, mecca does not have the same protection.

The first thing that comes to mind is that the French would be the last to retaliate for such an act by bombing Mecca because they're terrified of the Muslim Arabs and the French are too busy placating them. If Islamic terrorists bombed anything of any significance in France, the French would wring their hands and tell themselves that they must have deserved it.
The only effect of anyone bombing Mecca would be the militarization of most Muslims in the world for revenge. There would be no divine effect, however.
Regarding Jerusalem, I would point out two things:
(1) God did not prevent the destruction of the first two Temples or the sacking of Jerusalem in previous history; and
(2) Even if Jerusalem is destroyed, we see in the scriptures that there will be a new Jerusalem from Heaven, so perhaps the current Jerusalem needs to be destroyed first anyway.

well thanks phineas, (of fog fame?) but the destruction of the temples and other such historical events were predicted through bible prophecy. to obliterate it through thermonuclear ware fare would be another event. and events and predictions in the bible lead me to believe that the wars of the apocolapse will involve jerusulem. so i dont think that it will be decimated. how ever a thermonuclear explosion would eliminate mecca and all of the major landmarks of musilem faiths. it would also eliminate the pilgrimage of faith that they are required to make. indeed it would cause much hard feelings among musilims. but so have any act of terrorisim in the name of religeion in any country..

I dont believe there is a relevant comparison of the bible and the koran. The koran written after the new testament and christianity. It is my understanding that the muslim faith is a lie and against christianity and so cannot be sensibly compared.
