Hello;

I am reading the New Testament. I read Revelations first then I read Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and most of Acts.

Are there any others out there who may want to read3 or 4 chapters a week and have an open discussion about what we each gleaned from the scriptures?

Thanks in advance.

luvnlife,

Would you like to do an indepth, verse-by-verse study of Revelation? If so, let's see if others would want to participate. We could always start a thread in the Revelation forum, I suppose.

There's an open public bible study forum.

Why not just start and others can check it out too..

God Bless

Thanks for the feedback. We could do a number of things. I wouldn't mind going back over what I have read. One thing that impressed me was how differently Matthew, Mark, Luke and John expressed themselves. I also liked that they experienced or witnessed the same events yet chose to relay different aspects of those events to us so that we would have the whole picture, a clear picture of what took place from different vantage points and from people with different perceptions and points of view. The happenings were not contradicted but were enhanced by seeing them through different peoples eyes.

I am open to suggestions.

P.S. Nobby: When did I turn in to a Tadpole? I feel like I am 'shrinking.' Laughing

apocatastasis
I think an open forum. I have limited time that I can be online and sometimes I just like to read what other people are posting (as I have found in life that sometimes we learn more by "listening" than by "talking).

I really would like to start with the new testament and do a straight read-through. That is what I have been doing and I am almost on Romans. I have learned much but have done most of the reading on my own and would like to share this experience with others. (I am almost to Romans but have no problem going back to Matthew as every time I read a chapter again, it seems I glean something new from it).

Thanks,

Luv

P.S. apocatastasis

I think that Melinda (another Newbie like me) might be someone who would enjoy this type of study from reading her posts. Is it OK to invite anyone you think might be interested? Maybe Nobby and MoJo would be interested in this forum too. I don't know. What do you think?

Luv:)

and HE spake a parable unto them, can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch. lk6:39

woe unto ye scribes and pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him two fold more the child of hell than yourselves! matt. 23:15...

Maybe you should follow your own advice regarding minding your business from the "moderators do your job!" thread.

Short of doing that, see Nobbys response in this post.

As far as being blind goes, no one knows everything but please don't assume that just because I joined this forum recently that I have not been taught from the bible most of my life and, in fact, have read and actively do read the bible several times a week. Perhaps you are making reference to Nobby since he offered to set this up for us. You might want to clarify this point.

I hope when you quote the scripture about hypocrites that you are not referring to any of your brothers or sisters in this forum . God is our judge, not you.

no...i wasn't refering to my brother or sisters...as they are the ones who hear the word and keep it... Very Happy Very Happy ...

and your last remark shows me that you don't know enough scripture to teach it ... Very Happy Very Happy ...so...look out for the ditch sir...

ps...there is nothing you can do about one quoting scripture here sir..and that is all i need to expose your folly... Very Happy Very Happy ...and will...from here on...watch and see... Very Happy Very Happy ...nothing but scripture...it will be easy as you have spoken out of line from it several times already... Very Happy Very Happy ...
