The problem I've found is that the majority of them spend more time thumping their bibles than reading them.
As far as fundamentalists go; I have classified myself as such until I found that I didn't agree with their tendancy to rely on religion and doctrine rather than simply relying on scripture.
That plus the fact that classifying oneself as a born-again Christian in the Reformed tradition draws a lot less hostility than claiming the moniker of 'fundamentalist'.

I always understood fundamentalism to mean that you rely only on scripture, which describes you perfectly. You're all about scripture!

It wasn't a criticism! I was just saying that there is a reasonable argument to be made that RevJP is a fundamentalist by that definition of fundamentalist.
