I can't recall any of the Angels in the Bible being female, are there any?

I would like to ask why not if there are no females, but I don't supposed that is addressed.

I think the question is better asked whether there are any male angels or not.

I think we can understand this better by understanding God. God hasn't a gender. He is not male nor female. He hasn't a penis nor a vagina. We do attribute masculine pronouns to Him (He attributes them to Himself), but we likewise attribute feminine pronouns to the planet earth. It is not as though mother earth is a child-bearing woman with a vagina.

The same may be true of the angels. They haven't gender. They are not male nor female, but asexual. They are spirits. We may attribute masculine pronouns to a few of them (after all, only three angels are named within Scripture), but this attribution does not mean that there are male angels.

Maybe I should have asked , are there any angels with female names. I understand that in Heaven there is no marriage etc. and likely no sexuality.
The only Angel's I remember being named are Micheal, Gabriel, and one other that I forgot, all with male names.

In a book about Edgar Cayce, he says he was visited by a female Angel as a child and granted his wish to help people in his life.

To answer your question, no. There are no female names given to angels within the Scripture. Only three are named, Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer.

Actually, "lucifer" is merely the King of Babylon. Very Happy

Lucifer's a Latin name anyway, the proper Hebrew name would be "Helel" (but you'd be ignoring the actual context and haven't we gone over this in the past? Confused or disgusted)

Kevin, we're lazy here...or at least I am, don't just reference a verse, quote it. Very Happy

Quote:
Zec 5:5-11 Then the angel who talked with me came forward and said to me, "Lift your eyes and see what this is that is going out." (6) And I said, "What is it?" He said, "This is the basket that is going out." And he said, "This is their iniquity in all the land." (7) And behold, the leaden cover was lifted, and there was a woman sitting in the basket! (8) And he said, "This is Wickedness." And he thrust her back into the basket, and thrust down the leaden weight on its opening. (9) Then I lifted my eyes and saw, and behold, two women coming forward! The wind was in their wings. They had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between earth and heaven. (10) Then I said to the angel who talked with me, "Where are they taking the basket?" (11) He said to me, "To the land of Shinar, to build a house for it. And when this is prepared, they will set the basket down there on its base."

I HIGHLY recommend you getting e-sword if you do not already have some kind of bible program on your computer. It is free and it is kick-a! (esword.net, I believe).

Regarding this passage: I would say that these 'could' be women. Who knows? Zechariah was out there...crazy old man!

I could see arguments both ways. One could argue that these were in fact angels. But one could argue that they were just part of a vision, as the w.h.or.e of Babylon is part of John's vision, or the woman that ran into the wilderness is. Those two are not considered angels, but rather representatives of something else. They are images representing something.

Where is Mojo, this is her cup-of-tea a lot more than it is mine. She loves the imagery, I love the cheese...err...I mean the more factual and logical areas of Scripture.
