I don't think Israel or the US can afford to wait that long. I'll be watching to see what happens by June if no movment is made by then. |
I met someone on my trip who had just spoken to a bunch of Israelis that he met during his travels. They were all in the military, and apparently said that if you want to visit Iran, do so now, because Israel has been putting together some serious plans to attack them. _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

Israel has been putting together very serious plans for decades now. They plan, they practice, the train, then they do it all over again. The chances that they will actually attack Iran without significant provocation from Iran are very, very slim. Particularly since they have enough on thier plate in their own backyard. _________________ JP's Mind - my blog

Does Iran trying to build nuclear weapons with which to 'wipe Israel off the map' count as significant provocation? _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

I hope you're right, but what makes you think that Israel would not preemptively destroy Iran's nuclear program like they did with Iraq's nuclear program? _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

They really don't have the ability to fight two fronts at the moment and I believe they understand that. _________________ JP's Mind - my blog

Is Israel's military even engaged right now? I get the impression that the vast majority of their hardware isn't even being used right now. Certainly their air force, which is the main arm that would be used to hit Iran, is not being used. _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

So what happens when (if) Israel launches an attack, of the size necessary to accomplish the mission, on Iran? What does Palestine do when Israel's military resources are otherwise engaged?
The threat on their own shores is much more provocative and real that the impending threat of Iran 'trying' to accomplish nuclear capability. _________________ JP's Mind - my blog

What am I missing? Israel keeps its ground forces at home to deal with the Palestinians, and it uses its air force to hit Iran, just like it did with Iraq. It's not like Israel would try to launch a ground invasion of Iran, anyways. That would be stupid. For one, how would they get their troops over there? Besides, I doubt that the entire Israeli army would be able to do much on the ground. They'd be totally outnumbered, and the Iranians would have home court advantage. If they couldn't handle Hizbollah in Lebanon, then what chance would they stand against the entire Iranian army? _________________ "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction."

My back is up against a forest.
Isa 5:8 ¶ Woe unto them that join house to house, [that] lay field to field, till [there be] no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!
Isa 5:9 In mine ears [said] the LORD of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, [even] great and fair, without inhabitant.
Isa 5:10 Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of an homer shall yield an ephah.
I used to live in the city....then I moved to a park...now I live in the woods...
what's next??
