Hello,

I am a new Christian.

I was deceived by the devil and was drawn quite deeply into the new age cult.

I withdrew from it with an understanding there really was evil in the world.

After watching Kent Hovind's video's on creation, I came first to believe in creation and then to believe in Christ and accept him as my Saviour.

I see much of the devil's "New Age" lies still pervading our culture and churches. I hope to expose some of them and get people saved.

Hovind? I mean, all well and good to get out of a cult (is "new age" as a whole a cult or something?), but Hovind?

Welcome to the board.

Not sure if you are aware of this, but Hovind got 10 years last week... Confused or disgusted

BTW FFT... based on my argument of Hovind's effectiveness over on viewpoints... this is precisely a case in point of the strength of his seminars... 'lovemore' is only one of thousands...

Well, I know this. This is why we were laughing at "Steve" when he said that no one took Hovind seriously.

The "New Age" is the religion of the coming world government. It roots are in theosophy which at its core worships Lucifer, who is referred to as the Light. His followers seek illumination, or enlightenment. It's "spiritual hierarchy" labels Jesus as an "ascended master" -- one of many. The religion teaches tolerance (of evil), and peace (non-resistance/obedience to Satan). The New Age changes the truth of God into a lie, and worships and serves the creature (nature/animals) more than the Creator, just like it says in Romans 1:25. It teaches we are evolving into Gods though expanding our consciousness.

What issues do you have with Hovind?

And you somehow believed all of this? In what way?

He's a liar and a fraudster, for starters, and on top of that he's a tax evader (even though he commonly ranted about how he didn't like a "state-sponsored religion" [because that's what evolution is amirite] getting his tax money).

You can laugh and jest all day long... he has introduced countless thousands to the problems of evolution and its impact on our society.

Like I mentioned before... it was his effectiveness that scared the snot out those who disagree with him... not necessarily his message, but those who now have an understanding of what is really going on, are vocal about their opposition to it, and are not accepting this garbage without at least questioning it anymore... that is what scares the snot out of our intellectual elites. They no longer have a corner on the information market or ideas (thanks to the internet) and are in a panic as evidenced by the number of websites decrying the 'evils' of Kent. Laughing

Well, sure. It's ... not so much common knowledge, but well known that one can be much more convincing in a debate if they don't bother sticking to such things as "truth" or "honesty." Hovind exemplifies this perfectly.

Honestly this is a lot more appropriately assignd to creationists. If the number of websites decrying the "evils" of a thing somehow shows that its believers are insecure, you have no further to look than creationists decrying the "evils" and "problems" of evolution. Off hand, I'd predict there are a hell of a lot more of those than any websites bashing Hovind.

Quick google for "anti-evolution" = 69,200,000

I guess you have a point. Laughing Laughing Laughing
