If I were in a park and there was lots of space around and I was sitting on a bench designated as a smoking area then I would say their like or dislike would be none of my concern.

You could ask, or barring that, just assume that they don't. Like 75% of people are non-smokers; it would be a pretty safe bet.

I would have, but by the time I got into the bathroom, he had already gone and only his smoke was left...
But to answer your question in a more general sense, there have been plenty of times where I've politely asked people smoking in non-smoking areas to stop. |
