Many members from various forums that are interested in creation vs. evolution discussions have been directed to http://www.CreationTalk.com

Activity is starting to spark over there. If you're interested in dedicated discussion on this topic please visit that forum. There is usually a lack of creationists on that forum. It has a fair amount of detailed technical data that's discussed. So especially if you're a "creationist", would encourage you to take a peek over there.

This 'lack of creationists' is because of... the swimmingly warm civility? Laughing Laughing Laughing

I suspect it's going to get less civil as members get tired of Steve's methods.

Prolly... as normally it ends up as some self-congratulatory forum for defeating those evil YECs that dare to spew their veil lies. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Noticed the tactics haven’t changed that much…

From what I've seen, the Creationists get totally trounced over there. Responses are usually detailed and referenced.

Hmmmm..... let me see.

You have there Two PdD'ed scientists, one candidate, a professional writer, and a myriad of others.

Here is the point... if you hosted a website that dealt with the Army. Pick any subject dealing with the Army... recruitment, retention, training, deployments, health, etc... I could pretty much trounce anyone that came to the site because I have a great deal of knowledge about, and (THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART) if there was something that wasn't completely true about the Army, I know more than enough at least make a convincing argument otherwise to make one think that it is true. I can present fact, after fact, after fact, convince you it is applicable, and then crow like a rooster that I am right.

Now, when you have creationists with equal credentials against fellas like that, they loose EVERY SINGLE TIME! Not part of the time. Not once in a while. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I've seen toooooooo many debates for anyone to convince me otherwise.

The Gish Gallop isn't all that convincing to those not already creationists.

I don't know credentials of members on that site, I'm just stating my experience of seeing information posted and it's references.

And I'm simply stating that there are quite a few of them with extensive training and experience in science... but... when confronted with others who hold equal experience and training... well... it is not pretty.

From Duane Gish's wiki entry:

In his efforts to promote creation science, Gish has frequently debated prominent and well-known evolutionary scientists. Opponents object to the often unstructured nature of the debates, what they call a "shotgun" approach to presenting many arguments, bouncing from one issue to another by continually throwing out new claims without bothering to answer previous objections, each of which would require considerable time and information to refute, a technique which has been referred to as the "Gish gallop."

Oh... I haven't seen Gish debate before. Thanks.
